Open, Enclosed, Exclusive or Driven: Which One Suits Your Car?
People often use "car carrier" for all of these, but they are quite different services. A shared open carrier is not a dedicated truck, and a driven service is not a carrier at all. Compare them on the same points:

Whatever you pick, ask the transporter to write the mode on the quote — "open shared", "enclosed shared", "exclusive" or "driven". That one word avoids most arguments later.
Self-Drive vs Car Carrier: An Honest Comparison
Driving down yourself is a perfectly good option for many people, and sometimes the cheaper one. It comes down to your time, your comfort with a long highway day and whether you need the car on the day you land.
Rough fuel maths for self-drive (assumptions stated)
Distance about 570 km ÷ mileage of 15 km per litre = 38 litres. At an assumed ₹105 per litre, that is 38 × ₹105 = ₹3,990 in fuel, one way. Your car's real mileage and the pump price on the day will change this. Tolls on NH44 are extra and depend on your vehicle class — check a current toll calculator or your FASTag app before you leave rather than relying on any fixed number. Add food and, if you stop overnight, a hotel.

If you are carrying a family, a pet or a bootful of things and don't want a 10-hour drive right before joining a new office, the carrier usually wins. If you are comfortable with the journey and the car is suitable, self-drive may fit your schedule; plan the actual road conditions, breaks and arrival rather than assuming a same-day result.
How Many Days Does It Take? The Four Clocks
Use about 2–4 days as a planning estimate, but it helps to know why it is not one day. There are really four separate clocks running, and only one of them is the road.
- Pickup and loading in Bangalore. The crew inspects the car and moves it from your parking to where the carrier can stand. Confirm the actual collection and loading appointment; they may be separate stages.
- Dispatch. On a shared carrier, the trailer leaves once its loading for that trip is done. If your car is picked up by a smaller vehicle first, there may be a gap before it goes on the main carrier. Ask for the expected dispatch day in writing.
- Road time. A loaded carrier moves slower than a car and drivers must take rest stops, so the 570 km takes longer than it would in your own car.
- Last mile in Hyderabad. After unloading, delivery to your gate is planned around city traffic, any timing rules for heavy vehicles and your receiver being free.
Monsoon spells (roughly June to September), Dasara and Sankranti weeks and month-end can slow dispatch or the last mile. If your joining date is fixed, book early and tell us the date you need the car by.
Odometer, Fuel and Keys: The Three-Handover Worksheet
A car carrier doesn't mean "zero kilometres". The car is usually driven a short distance at each end — out of your basement, onto the ramp, off the ramp and to your gate. That's normal. What matters is that every movement is recorded and agreed. Fill one row at each handover and take a photo of the dashboard each time.

Agree before pickup on roughly how many kilometres the first and last mile will add. If the carrier has to stand on a main road two kilometres away from your society, the car will be driven that far, and both of you should know it in advance.
Hand over only the key the crew needs. Keep the spare key with you, and write down the key count on the report.
From Your Basement to the Carrier — and to Your Hyderabad Gate
A basement in Bellandur or a narrow lane in Kukatpally can affect the move as much as the highway leg. Check loaded-vehicle access, turning space and the agreed handover point before scheduling collection.
Bangalore pickup check
- Basement ramp: is it steep, with a sharp turn or speed breaker at the bottom? Low cars can scrape here before they reach any carrier.
- Is the car running? Brakes, steering, battery and tyres okay? A flat tyre or dead battery changes the equipment needed.
- Can a big carrier physically enter your society or lane, and at what time? Many apartment complexes in Whitefield, Electronic City and Sarjapur Road don't allow heavy vehicles inside.
- If not, agree on a meeting point that is wide, legal and safe to load — not a highway shoulder, a metro station exit or the office postal address.
- Tell your security desk the date, time and the crew's details.
Hyderabad delivery check
- Give the exact building and gate, not just "Gachibowli" or "near Kondapur signal". Gated communities in Gachibowli, Kondapur, Kukatpally, Secunderabad, LB Nagar and around Shamshabad often have separate visitor and service gates.
- Check if the society needs prior approval for a vehicle delivery and where the car can be parked on arrival.
- Find out whether a large carrier can reach your road. If not, the car may be unloaded at a nearby open spot and driven the last stretch — note those kilometres on the worksheet.
- Make sure the receiver is free for the delivery window and has the pickup photos on their phone.

Not in Hyderabad Yet? Name a Receiver
This is very common: one spouse is already in Hyderabad, or you have joined a new office in HITEC City and can't take half a day off. A friend, relative or colleague can receive the car if you tell us in advance.
- Name and mobile number of the receiver, written on the booking
- Confirm the nominated person’s authority and any required identification privately with the booking contact
- The pickup condition report and photos shared with them before delivery
- Parking slot and society permission sorted on their side
- Clear instruction on what they should check before signing — all sides, wheels, glass, odometer, keys and accessories
The same works at the Bangalore end. If you have already left, a person you name can hand over the car, as long as it is written on the booking.
Electric Cars and Low-Clearance Cars
An EV or low-clearance car needs a plan for its actual model and condition. What we ask for:
- Exact model and variant. Body size, kerb weight and ground clearance decide which equipment and which price row apply.
- Your owner's manual. Most manufacturers give instructions for towing or transporting the car — for example, whether it can be towed with wheels on the ground (often it can't), and how to put it in neutral or transport mode. We follow those instructions and the carrier's own acceptance rules.
- Honest disclosure. Tell us about any battery warning, charging fault, accident repair, pending recall, lowered suspension or body kit, or if the car isn't running. These change how it is loaded, and some cars need an exclusive flatbed.
- Charge level. Keep the charge where the manufacturer recommends for transport and where the crew can still drive it on and off. Don't arrive at pickup with a nearly empty battery.
- No DIY work. Please don't disconnect the 12V battery, pull fuses or touch the high-voltage system to "prepare" the car. That is the authorised service centre's job if it is needed at all.
For low sports cars, sedans with front lips and cars on aftermarket wheels, the crew checks the ramp angle and loaded height before loading. If the standard ramp won't clear, we'll say so and suggest an exclusive or different carrier rather than forcing it.
How Your Car Is Picked Up, Moved and Delivered
- Quote in writing. Car model, carrier type, pickup and drop points, expected dispatch and delivery days, and every extra item listed separately.
- Pre-pickup call. We confirm the basement and gate details, the receiver, and anything special about the car.
- Inspection at pickup. Photos of every panel, roof, wheels, glass and dashboard. Existing scratches and dents go on the report, which you sign and keep a copy of.
- Loading. The car is driven or winched onto the carrier using equipment that suits its size and clearance, then secured with wheel straps or tie-downs as the carrier's system requires.
- Line-haul on NH44. We share status updates on call or WhatsApp. Ask us anytime where your car is.
- Unloading in Hyderabad. The car is unloaded and brought to your agreed delivery point, with the kilometres noted.
- Delivery check. You or your receiver compare the car with the pickup photos. Any new issue is written on the delivery receipt before signing.
Getting Your Car Ready: Owner's Checklist
A day or two before
- Wash the car so marks are easy to see in photos
- Take your own photos and a short video, with the date visible
- Remove personal parking cards, receipts, sunglasses, loose chargers and valuables; ask how FASTag or toll-account handling should be managed under the issuer’s instructions
- Prepare mirrors and detachable accessories according to the model’s manual or competent advice
- Remove roof carriers, bike racks or loose accessories, or tell us about them
- Check tyre pressure and that the handbrake works
On pickup day
- Fuel and EV charge according to the actual carrier’s written instructions and the vehicle manual
- Agree model-compatible alarm and key handling instructions with the carrier; arrange qualified help for technical settings
- Hand over one key; keep the spare
- Note the odometer and fuel on the report
- Keep original documents with you, not in the glovebox
- Collect your copy of the signed condition report
On protection: the crew uses covers and padding that suit your car and the carrier — for example seat and steering covers, and padding where straps run near the body. Wrapping the whole car in foam or putting adhesive tape on the paint isn't automatically "safer" and can mark some finishes.

Transit Cover and What Happens If There's Damage
Transit cover is optional and depends on what the provider can offer for your car at that time. Don't assume your regular motor policy covers the car while it sits on a carrier — coverage varies. Confirm the actual policy with your insurer.
If you take transit cover, get these answers in writing:
- Who is the insurer, and what is the declared value of your car?
- What is the premium, and is there a deductible?
- What is excluded — for example, items kept inside the car, mechanical issues or existing damage?
- How many days do you have to report damage, and what proof is needed?
If something is wrong at delivery
- Write the issue clearly on the delivery receipt before signing.
- Take photos and video next to the pickup photos, with the date visible.
- Inform us the same day on call and WhatsApp.
- Share the signed reports and photos for the claim as per the policy terms.
If you notice something only later, report it as quickly as you can with photos. Claims for damage found after signing a clean delivery receipt are usually harder, which is why the delivery check matters.
The Bangalore–Hyderabad Route by Road
The usual road route is NH44, about 570 km. From north Bangalore it runs past Devanahalli and Chikkaballapur, crosses into Andhra Pradesh near Bagepalli, continues through the Anantapur and Kurnool belt, enters Telangana and reaches Hyderabad from the south via Jadcherla and Shamshabad. The actual kilometres depend on where in Bangalore the car is picked up and where in Hyderabad it is delivered — Electronic City to Secunderabad is not the same as Yelahanka to Shamshabad.

How much fuel should I leave in the car?
Follow the actual carrier’s written fuel instructions and the vehicle manufacturer’s preparation guidance. Agree the driven movement needed for loading and final delivery; a universal quarter-tank rule should not replace instructions for the selected car and mode.
Can you transport an electric car from Bangalore to Hyderabad?
Yes. An EV is priced by its body size, weight and clearance, so a Nexon EV usually falls in the compact SUV row, not the luxury row. We follow the manufacturer's transport instructions and the carrier's acceptance rules, so please share your exact variant and any battery or charging warning. Keep the charge as the manual recommends and don't disconnect anything yourself.
Is my car insured during transport?
Transit cover is optional and depends on what the provider offers for your car. Ask for the insurer's name, declared value, premium, deductible, exclusions and claim steps in writing. Your regular motor policy may or may not cover the car while it is on a carrier, so check with your insurer too.
Will the odometer show extra kilometres?
A few, usually. The car is driven short distances at each end — out of your basement, onto and off the carrier, and to your gate. We note the odometer at each handover and agree beforehand if the carrier has to load at a meeting point away from your building.
Can someone else hand over or receive my car?
Nominate the person authorised to release or receive the car and confirm any required authority or identification privately with the booking team. Share the condition photos, odometer, keys and accessories list with the receiver so they can compare the car before signing.
Can you pick up my car from an apartment basement?
Share the actual ramp, turns, loaded height and ground clearance, car condition and society rules. Agree whether it will be driven, towed or carried to a lawful suitable loading point, who may move it and what kilometres may be added. A non-running car or difficult ramp needs separate equipment assessment.
Do I need to re-register my car in Hyderabad?
Shipping the car, a change of owner or finance, and registration or road-tax requirements are separate questions. For a longer stay in Telangana, check the actual process with the relevant authorities. Official Parivahan guidance describes an NOC in Form 28 to the registering authority; do not assume a blanket exemption, deadline or processing time.
