House shifting, office moves, few-item pickups and car or bike transport from Indiranagar, planned around the building you are leaving and the one you are going to.
Indiranagar is not one kind of address. A flat above a showroom on 100 Feet Road, an old independent house on a cross road in HAL 2nd Stage, an apartment in HAL 3rd Stage with a society office, and a startup on 12th Main all need a different vehicle, a different carry distance and sometimes a different time of day. Treating these access types as the same can lead to the wrong vehicle or carry plan.
We are Packers and Movers from Bangalore. Our office is in HSR Layout and we come to Indiranagar for surveys and moves; use the actual office contact and confirm the allotted survey and moving appointment. What we do is look at your inventory and both addresses properly, give you a written quote that says what is included, and then do the job the way it was quoted.
In short
- Local planning ranges: 1BHK from about ₹5,200, 2BHK from about ₹8,250, 3BHK from about ₹12,300, with the assumptions written out below
- How intercity, office and car or bike moves from Indiranagar are priced
- Access planning for 100 Feet Road, CMH Road, 12th Main, Defence Colony and the HAL Stages
- Separate guidance for antique wood and glass, shop stock, office IT, families and PG rooms
Want a first number? Use the calculator below with your move type and volume. It gives a starting estimate; floor, lift, carry distance and any special packing are added once we have seen your items.
Indiranagar Moving Cost Calculator
Choose a listed destination and inventory category. Local figures are budgeting examples; intercity bands follow the route guides linked below. The actual quote needs your inventory and both entrances.
Your planning guide
Confirm packing, loading, unloading, floors/lift, carrying distance, vehicle/mode, toll treatment, applicable tax, selected cover and optional work in the dated quote. Volume choices do not apply an automatic multiplier. Vehicle acceptance and schedules are assessed separately.
Moving in Indiranagar: plan for the access, not only the distance
A 6 km local move can take longer than a 30 km one if the truck can't stop near the gate. So before we fix a vehicle, we place both the pickup and the drop in one of three access types.
1. Commercial frontage: 100 Feet Road, CMH Road and 12th Main
Flats above shops, offices in mixed-use buildings and stores on these roads share the frontage with customers, delivery riders and two-wheeler parking. Kerb space is limited and the loading window is short. We check whether there is a side entry or a back lane, how far goods have to be carried from the point where a vehicle can safely and legally stand, and whether a neighbouring shop's hours affect when we can work. Often the practical answer is a smaller vehicle making two trips, or a larger truck parked a little away with a mini truck shuttling between.
2. Residential cross roads: HAL 2nd Stage, Defence Colony, HAL 3rd Stage
The quieter side of Indiranagar has independent houses, bungalows and low-rise buildings on tree-lined mains and crosses. Lovely to live on, but on moving day you meet cars parked on both sides, low branches and cables, narrow gates, sloping driveways and the odd sharp turn. A 19 ft truck may get in and still not be able to turn around. At survey we look at gate width, overhead clearance, where the truck can stand without blocking the road, and whether furniture has to come down an outside staircase from a first or second floor portion.
3. Apartments with a society office and goods lift
Apartment buildings in and around Indiranagar have their own rules: fixed shifting hours, a lift that must be booked, lift padding, a separate goods entrance, and sometimes a move-out pass or a note from the owner. Please check these with the association or facility manager early. A lift booked for the wrong day can hold up a full team.
Address details that actually help on moving day
- Door or flat number, building name, Main and Cross, and which Stage (HAL 1st, 2nd or 3rd)
- PIN code, keeping in mind that 560008 and 560038 both cover parts of Indiranagar, so the PIN alone won't place the gate
- Which gate goods should use, and where a vehicle can safely stop
- Floor number, lift size or no lift, and the narrowest door or staircase turn
- Society timings, and the name and number of the person at the other end
Landmarks like the Indiranagar metro station on CMH Road or a well-known café help the driver find the street. They don't tell us where the goods gate is or whether a truck may stop there. A map pin dropped at the actual gate, plus a 30-second video of the lane, is far more useful.
On timing: we plan around current traffic and whatever your building and the city currently allow for goods vehicles. We don't offer a "night move" or a dawn slot by default. If your society only permits moves between certain hours, that is the window we work in.
Our packing and moving services in Indiranagar
Full house shifting
For a complete 1BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK or bigger home: packing of the kitchen, wardrobes, books, decor and electronics; dismantling of standard furniture such as cots, dining tables and study tables; loading, transport and unloading; and refitting the same furniture at the new place. Unpacking and placing cartons room-wise can be added. Every carton and loose item is numbered on an inventory before loading.
Local shifting within Bangalore
Most of our Indiranagar jobs go to another part of the city: east towards Whitefield, Marathahalli and Bellandur, south towards Koramangala, HSR Layout and Sarjapur Road, or north towards Hebbal. A local move is usually one truck going straight from your gate to the new one, with the same team loading and unloading.
Few items, single room and mini truck moves
If all you have is a fridge, a cot, a washing machine, some cartons and maybe a two-wheeler, you don't need a full house crew. Assess the vehicle and handling crew from the actual item sizes, packing and both entrances. You can pack your clothes and books yourself and let us pack only the fragile pieces. Floor and carry distance still count, so mention them when you ask.
Intercity moves from Indiranagar
We move households from Indiranagar to Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Kochi and other cities, either in a shared truck or a dedicated one. The section on intercity charges below explains how each option is priced.
Office and home-office relocation
Workstations, chairs, monitors, whiteboards, files, cabinets and IT hardware, packed and labelled to a seating plan for the new space. Details further down, under startup offices.
Shop, boutique and café shifting
Stock counted and boxed by category, racks and glass displays packed separately, landlord fittings left where they belong. See the retail section below for the handover checklist.
Car and bike transport
Discuss the bike or car as its own transport requirement. Confirm acceptance, secure loading, vehicle/carrier, collection and receiving scope; it may travel separately from the household goods. For other cities, see our bike transport charges guide or, for one of the most common routes, car transport from Bangalore to Hyderabad.
Add-ons: carpenter, technician and hoisting
Our team dismantles and refits standard furniture. For AC uninstall and reinstall, geyser, chimney, water purifier or TV wall mounting, we can line up a technician or you can use your own; this is charged separately and the technician is responsible for that work. Modular wardrobes and site-built units don't always come apart cleanly, so check with whoever built them. If a sofa or cot won't pass through the staircase, rope hoisting through a balcony is sometimes possible, but only after the survey confirms it is safe, the owner or society agrees, and you understand the risk involved.
House shifting charges in Indiranagar (local moves)
These are planning ranges for a local move from Indiranagar to another part of Bangalore. Use them to compare the same packing and access scope. Your actual quote depends on your item list and on the two buildings.
| Home size | Planning range | Usual vehicle | Normally included |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | ₹5,200 – ₹8,200 | Mini truck for a light home; 14 ft truck for a fuller one | Standard packing, cot dismantling and refitting, loading, transport, unloading |
| 2 BHK | ₹8,250 – ₹12,250 | 14 ft to 17 ft truck | Same as above, with more labour and material |
| 3 BHK | ₹12,300 – ₹18,200 | 17 ft to 19 ft truck, or two trips | Same as above, larger team; packing may start the day before |
What these ranges assume: a local move within Bangalore, standard packing material, a normal household inventory, working lifts or ground-floor access at both ends, and a vehicle that can stop reasonably close to both gates. GST, crating, storage, technician work, waiting time and long carry distances are extra and shown separately in your quote. A 4BHK, a villa or a very full home is quoted only after survey. A few-items move is quoted from your item list and normally comes in below the 1BHK range.
What pushes the cost up, and what keeps it down
| Factor | Usually adds cost | Usually saves money |
|---|---|---|
| Floor and lift | Third floor or higher with no lift; a lift too small for the fridge or sofa | Ground floor, or a goods lift booked for your slot |
| Carry distance | Vehicle stops far from the gate; a shuttle vehicle is needed | Vehicle can stand at or near the gate |
| Packing | Wooden crating, extra layers for antiques and glass, wardrobe cartons | You pack clothes and books; we pack fragile items and furniture |
| Volume | Full kitchen, large library, gym equipment, loft and balcony storage | Selling or giving away unused things before the survey |
| Date | Month-end, weekends, festival weeks, last-minute bookings | Mid-week, mid-month, booked in advance |
| Extras on the day | Technicians, storage, waiting for keys or lift | Both ends ready, lift booked, keys in hand |
Comparing two quotes for the same 2BHK
Two 2BHK quotes can be ₹4,000 apart and both be honest, because they are not quoting the same job. Put them side by side and check the number of helpers, vehicle size, the packing material listed (single layer or multi-layer for furniture), whether dismantling and refitting are included, whether your floor and lift situation is mentioned, and whether GST is shown or left out. A low total that ignores your fourth floor without a lift usually comes back as an "extra" on moving day.
Intercity and vehicle shifting charges from Indiranagar
For moves outside Bangalore we don't publish one fixed tariff. The same 2BHK costs one amount to Mysore and quite another to Delhi, and differently again in a shared truck versus a dedicated one. What we can do is explain how each type of move is priced, so your quote makes sense when you get it.
| Type of move | Usual mode | What decides the price |
|---|---|---|
| Few home items (cartons, fridge, cot, washing machine) | Shared or part-load truck | Volume or weight, distance, packing, door pickup and delivery |
| Complete house, 1BHK to 2BHK | Shared truck, or a smaller dedicated truck | Volume, distance, how fast you need delivery, floors at both ends |
| Complete house, 3BHK to 5BHK | Dedicated truck, sometimes two | Truck size, distance, tolls and driver days, packing grade, crating |
| House shifting plus car | Household truck plus a car carrier | Car size, open or closed carrier, pickup and delivery points |
| Few office items | Shared truck | Number of workstations and cartons, IT packing, delivery appointment |
| Complete office | Dedicated truck, planned floor-wise or team-wise | Volume, labelling, timing window, how ready the new office is |
Indicative intercity household budgets from Indiranagar
The following destination examples use the same researched planning figures as our Bangalore route guides. They assume an assessed ordinary household and access; they are not paid-job records, fixed tariffs or dedicated-truck promises. Confirm the actual two addresses, inventory, packing, shared or dedicated mode, taxes, handling and receiving scope before accepting a total.
| Destination | 1 BHK guide | 2 BHK guide | 3 BHK guide | 4 BHK / villa guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chennai | Household guide: ₹11,000–₹16,000 | Household guide: ₹16,000–₹24,000 | 3 / 4 BHK guide: ₹24,000–₹38,000 | 3 / 4 BHK guide: ₹24,000–₹38,000 |
| Hyderabad | Household guide: ₹8,000–₹14,000 | Household guide: ₹14,000–₹22,000 | Household guide: ₹22,000–₹38,000 | Villa guide: ₹28,000–₹45,000 |
| Pune | Shared guide: ₹8,000–₹15,000 Dedicated guide: ₹18,000–₹28,000 | Shared guide: ₹14,000–₹25,000 Dedicated guide: ₹28,000–₹45,000 | 3 / 4 BHK shared guide: ₹22,000–₹38,000 3 / 4 BHK dedicated guide: ₹42,000–₹72,000 | Shared guide: ₹22,000–₹38,000 Dedicated guide: ₹42,000–₹72,000 |
| Mumbai | 1 RK / 1 BHK guide: ₹12,000–₹18,000 | Household guide: ₹18,000–₹28,000 | 3 / 4 BHK guide: ₹28,000–₹45,000 | 3 / 4 BHK guide: ₹28,000–₹45,000 |
| Delhi / NCR | Household guide: ₹20,000–₹35,000 | Household guide: ₹35,000–₹55,000 | Household guide: ₹55,000–₹85,000 | Villa guide: ₹85,000–₹1,40,000 |
| Kolkata | Household guide: ₹14,000–₹22,000 Small shared-load starting reference; assessed: ₹12,000 | Compact shared/part-load guide: ₹22,000–₹35,000 | Consolidated-space household guide: ₹35,000–₹55,000 | Surveyed inventory quote |
Few items, a 5 BHK or villa, a full office and household-plus-car bookings need a measured load and separate leg details. A light shared consignment is not the same purchase as exclusive use of a complete truck. Use the destination guide and an inventory survey for other routes, including Delhi NCR.
Car and bike price examples

| Kolkata | Scooter guide: ₹4,500–₹6,000 Standard100–200cc guide: ₹5,000–₹7,000 Large/heavy model guide: ₹6,500–₹9,000 | Hatchback guide: ₹10,000–₹13,000 Sedan guide: ₹11,000–₹15,000 SUV/MUV guide: ₹13,000–₹18,000 |
These are vehicle transport guides, separate from home packing. Confirm the actual carrier and available service, both collection and receiving legs, model-compatible preparation and any approved driven leg. Heavy, premium or electric models require separate assessment. Record condition, odometer, keys and accessories at handover and delivery.
Shared truck or dedicated truck?
In a shared truck your goods travel with other consignments going the same way. It costs less, but the goods may pass through a hub and the delivery window is wider. A dedicated vehicle is allocated exclusively to the accepted consignment. Compare the dispatch window and handling points; it can reduce consolidation waits but does not establish one guaranteed arrival time. Both are fine choices; just make sure your quote says which one it is, along with the estimated delivery window, GST, tolls and transit cover.
For route-specific planning, see our pages for moving from Bangalore to Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi NCR. For broader numbers across Bangalore, our house shifting charges guide and Bangalore packers and movers charges guide go into more detail.
Antique wood, glass and premium furniture in Defence Colony and HAL homes
Older Indiranagar homes often have pieces that are heavier, older or simply more precious than flat-pack furniture: solid teak cots, rosewood almirahs, a bar cabinet with a mirrored back, a glass display unit, a marble-topped dining table, brass, paintings. Bubble wrap alone doesn't protect these. What protects them is deciding the method before anyone picks up a screwdriver.
- Measure the piece and the path. Height, width and depth of the piece, against the doors, the staircase turn and the lift. If it doesn't fit, we decide now, not on the landing.
- Record its condition. Existing scratches, cracks, loose veneer and wobbly joints are photographed and noted on the inventory, so everyone agrees on the starting point.
- Decide whether to dismantle. Old furniture with wooden pegs or handmade joints can be safer carried whole. Where we do open it up, fittings go into labelled bags kept with the matching item, without adhesive tape against finished surfaces.
- Take glass and stone out separately. Assess whether shelves, mirrors and stone tops can be removed safely. Use appropriate supports, cushioning and orientation for their dimensions and construction, with specialist input for heavy or fragile pieces.
- Crate where the survey says so. Large glass, artwork or very fragile pieces may need a wooden crate. This is assessed at survey and charged extra.
- Load with care. Choose support, padding, load position and securing for the actual weight, dimensions and fragile construction, keeping pressure and adhesive away from finished surfaces. If the lane needs a shuttle, these pieces move in the smaller vehicle with fewer items around them.
We pack, carry and place carefully. We don't do polishing or restoration. If a piece is already fragile or has old damage, tell us at the survey so we can plan for it, or get a specialist's view first.
Startup offices and work-from-home setups
Indiranagar has a lot of small offices (startups, studios, agencies, clinics' back offices) and a lot of people working from a spare bedroom. Physically moving desks and monitors is the easy part. The planning around it is what keeps the first working day on track.
- IT release first. Company laptops, servers, storage and network equipment should be backed up and released by your IT person or vendor before we pack. We pack and carry hardware; data, configuration and network setup stay with your IT team.
- Label by desk. Each workstation, monitor, chair and pedestal gets a desk number that matches a seating plan at the new office. Cables go in bags with the same number.
- Screens and boards. Monitors go in their original boxes if you kept them, otherwise in foam and cartons. Whiteboards and glass boards travel on edge.
- Ergonomic chairs and standing desks. Assess the actual model and instructions before dismantling. Label compatible removable fittings and protect the assembled unit where appropriate; electrical drives, gas lifts and fixed joints may require qualified or brand assistance.
- First-day box. Keys, access cards, router, extension boards, chargers, a printer cartridge, tea and coffee things. Mark it clearly and keep it in a car, not the truck.
- Delivery appointment. Lift booking, security passes for the crew and parking at the new building are fixed before the date.
For an office move, agree the working-day cutoff, building goods slots and authorised IT handover before choosing packing and delivery appointments. We plan around your working days, but we won't promise zero downtime; that depends on your internet, IT and landlord as much as on us.
Moving a boutique, store or café
Retail moves go wrong when nobody agreed in advance what belongs to whom. Before the survey, walk through the space and sort everything into three groups.
- Your stock: garments, products, packaging and spare stock, counted and boxed by category with the count written on the carton.
- Your equipment: garment racks, glass display units, mannequins, billing counter, POS terminal, CCTV recorder, chairs and signboards you own.
- Landlord's fittings: fixed shelving, lights, false ceiling and anything the lease says stays. We don't remove these without written permission from the owner.
Agree on a last trading time at the old shop and a ready-to-receive time at the new one, so stock isn't sitting in a truck while paint dries. For a café or food counter, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, gas lines, electrical points and exhaust must be disconnected and reconnected by qualified, authorised people. We move the equipment once it is safely disconnected. We don't offer cold-chain or food transport, so plan to use up or separately move anything perishable.
Families, school routines and elderly parents
For families, the hard part of a move is often the week around it rather than the truck itself. A few things that help:
- Keep the school run separate. If one parent does drop and pickup, fix the goods slot in the gap and have a second adult to receive at the new house.
- Give the full address, not the nearest landmark. As an example of the detail a driver needs, National Public School Indiranagar lists its address as 12A Main, HAL II Stage, Bangalore 560008. Main, Stage and PIN like that are far more useful than "near the school". (We use it only as an address example; we have no connection with the school.)
- Things that stay with you. Medicines, documents, jewellery, cash, keys and school files travel with the family, not in cartons.
- For elderly parents receiving at the new home: name one main receiver and one backup with phone numbers, give them a simple room plan showing where things go, and keep a first-night box with bedding, medicines, tea things and a charger. Ask the team to set up the beds first.
PG rooms, shared flats and furnished homes
Many tenants in Indiranagar live in PGs or furnished flats where most of the furniture isn't theirs. That changes the job.
- Only your own belongings are moved. The owner's furniture and appliances stay. If anything is unclear, get the owner to confirm in writing; record the required written owner authority before including the item.
- A roommate's things are moved only with their consent, and listed separately on the inventory.
- A suitcase, a few cartons, a mattress and a bike is a few-items job: smaller vehicle, fewer hands. Don't pay for full house packing you don't need.
- Fix your checkout with the PG or owner so the deposit and key handover aren't squeezed into the moving slot.
How a move with us works, step by step
- Share the details. Call or WhatsApp with your item list or photos, both addresses, floors, lift details and your preferred date.
- Survey. A video walk-through for most homes; a home visit for larger homes, offices, antiques or tricky access.
- Written quote. It lists vehicle, labour, packing type, what is included, GST, tolls for intercity moves, transit cover options and anything charged extra.
- Packing. Fragile items first, cartons labelled by room, furniture dismantled with hardware bagged and labelled.
- Inventory and loading. Cartons and items numbered, condition noted, a copy for you. Use an assessed loading and securing plan that supports each item and protects fragile pieces from stack pressure.
- Transit. Local moves go straight from gate to gate. For intercity moves you get a docket number to check status.
- Delivery and setup. Unloading, checking against the inventory, refitting furniture, placing cartons room-wise, unpacking if booked, and clearing packing waste where agreed.
- Sign-off. Check your items before signing, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
Packing materials and how we use them
| Item | How it is packed |
|---|---|
| Glassware and crockery | Wrapped piece by piece in paper and bubble wrap, packed upright in strong cartons with filler, marked fragile and this-side-up |
| TV and monitors | Original box if you have it; otherwise foam or bubble wrap, corrugated sheet and a carton. Screens never go flat under weight |
| Fridge | Prepare, drain and dry according to the model instructions. Secure removable fittings with finish-compatible protection and follow the maker’s transport and restart guidance; no tape directly against finished surfaces |
| Washing machine | Model-appropriate draining, drying and cushioning; correct transport bolts only where required for that model, with qualified preparation when needed |
| Wooden furniture | Dismantled where safe, corners padded, wrapped in bubble wrap or blankets with stretch film; hardware bagged and labelled |
| Glass tops and mirrors | Removed and packed on edge with corner guards and corrugated sheet; crated if large |
| Clothes | Wardrobe cartons for hanging clothes where available; otherwise suitcases and cartons |
| Books and files | Small cartons, so no single box is too heavy to carry safely |
| Mattress and sofa | Dry, finish-compatible first layers, cushioning and assessed outer protection; wrapping does not make the item waterproof |
| Plants | Disclose live plants separately and confirm acceptance, preparation and destination requirements with the actual carrier; arrange an alternative if they cannot travel |
Rain, late keys and other things that change the plan
Shifting during the rains
Check the current forecast and dry access at both addresses for a wet-weather move. On a wet day we keep cartons under cover inside the building until the truck is ready, use dry, finish- and model-compatible protection for mattresses, sofas and electronics, cover the truck floor and keep nothing on wet ground. If heavy rain makes loading unsafe, we pause or move the slot. A few hours' wait is better than water in your sofa.
When the new keys are not ready
If the handover is delayed, you have three choices: wait with the loaded truck (waiting charges apply), unload into short-term storage and redeliver later (storage-in, rent, storage-out and redelivery are separate costs), or postpone the move. Ask us before booking whether storage can be arranged for your dates, and we'll put the terms in writing.
Delays in transit and what tracking shows
Intercity transit can be slowed by weather, highway checks, a breakdown, or a shared truck waiting to fill. Your quote gives an estimated delivery window, not an exact hour, and we'll tell you if it changes. Keep your docket or consignment reference for the website status-request option or agreed booking contact. Confirm the available milestones and status channel, and ask separately whether live vehicle location is available.
Transit cover, damage and claims
Packing, loading and condition records help manage risk. Available transit cover has its own declared-value and reporting terms. Before you book, ask for the cover available for your move, the declared value it is based on, the exclusions and any conditions for owner-packed items or appliance operation, and the claim procedure with its time limit. Get all of this in your quote. We don't call any move "fully insured" or "100% safe", because nobody honestly can.
If something arrives damaged:
- Note it on the delivery receipt before you sign.
- Photograph the item, carton labels and packaging and retain the evidence.
- For an issue found during later unpacking, preserve the item, packaging and labels and report promptly in writing with docket and inventory references under the applicable terms.
- Send the photos with your booking and inventory numbers to us on WhatsApp or by email.
How to choose packers and movers in Indiranagar
Questions worth asking
- What exactly is included, and what would be charged extra on the day?
- Is GST included or added? For intercity, are tolls included?
- Have you priced my floor, lift situation and carry distance?
- Which packing material for furniture: single layer or multi-layer?
- Shared or dedicated truck, and what is the delivery window?
- Which transit cover is available, and what does it exclude?
- How much advance, how is the balance paid, and what happens if I change the date?
Red flags
- A firm price on the phone without seeing your items, then "extras" once loading starts
- A large cash advance, or a request to pay into a personal account
- No written quote, no GST invoice, no office address you can verify
- A name copied from a well-known moving company, with a different number and website
- Pressure to decide in the next ten minutes
