A move here can be a fresher shifting two bags and a mattress between PGs, a family moving a 3 BHK out of a tower in Phase 2, or a team lead carrying a full work-from-home setup to Pune.

Your exact address matters more than "Phase 1" or "Phase 2"

Most people describe where they live as "E-City Phase 1" or "Phase 2". That is enough for a friend, but not for a moving truck. Two flats in the same phase can need completely different planning because one is in a society with a proper goods entrance and a service lift, and the other is on the third floor of a building with a narrow staircase and no place for a truck to stop outside.

To show how specific an address should be, look at how ELCITA (the Electronics City Industrial Township Authority) lists its own office on its contact page: Integrated Operations Centre, Sy No 13P & 18P, West Avenue 8, Electronics City Phase 1, Bengaluru 560100. That is the level of detail we need for your pickup and drop too: building name, block or tower, road, landmark and pin code. We mention this only as an example of a complete address, not because the authority office has anything to do with your move or because every building follows the same entry rules.

When you ask for a quote, please share:

• Full address and a Google Maps pin for both places
• Floor, lift availability and whether the lift can be used for shifting (and if it needs booking)
• Where a loaded vehicle can safely and legally stop, and how far that is from your door
• Society or building rules: allowed shifting hours, NOC, gate pass, security deposit, if any
• Any steps, ramps, turns or basement entry the vehicle or the crew must deal with

Discuss the actual pickup and drop around Neeladri Road, Doddathogur, Konappana Agrahara, the Hosa Road stretch, Bommasandra, Jigani and the Neotown side. We do not price these by name. A flat near Hosa Road may be a short drive or a long one depending on where it is going, and some addresses people call "E-City" are actually in neighbouring panchayat or industrial areas. The two map pins decide the distance, not the locality label.

Road access: Hosur Road, Hosa Road and the final gate

A trip toward BTM or HSR Layout and a trip toward Whitefield need different route and arrival planning. Share the actual stopping point, gate height, lane width and any basement ramp before the vehicle is allocated. Check current permitted routes and restrictions for that vehicle class; an elevated road, service road or Hosa Road connection is not automatically suitable for every loaded truck. If the larger vehicle cannot reach the door, agree the shuttle or manual-carry scope before moving day. No fixed traffic saving or toll amount is assumed from the phase name.

Planning the move around your work week

A lot of people in Electronic City try to fit the whole move into one Saturday so that they do not lose a working day. That can work, but only if you treat the move as a few separate appointments instead of one block of time. We cannot promise that your work will not be disturbed at all, but with some planning you can keep it to a minimum.

Five separate appointments, not one "moving day"

If any one of these slips, for example the new society only allows shifting after 10 AM, the rest of the plan shifts with it. That is why we ask for building timings at the quote stage.

The bag that does not go in the truck

Keep one bag with you in your own vehicle or cab. It should hold your work laptop and charger, a phone hotspot or a backup data plan, earphones, ID cards, the old and new flat keys, important documents, medicines and one change of clothes. If your internet connection at the new flat is not ready on the first working day, this bag is what keeps you online.

Company laptops and office assets

Company-owned laptops, monitors and docking stations are your employer's property. Check with your IT or admin team before moving them. Some companies want you to carry them personally, some want them returned and re-issued, and some need a written approval. Take your backup only through the method your company approves, shut devices down properly, and label any desk parts, cables and adapters before the packing team arrives.

Evening packing and next-day loading

If your work finishes late, ask whether an evening packing slot followed by next-day loading is available. Check noise rules, lift hours, overnight carton staging and both building permissions first. Keep the work desk and essentials until their agreed packing time; confirm crew availability and any date or split-visit charge in the estimate.

Packing a WFH setup: monitors, desks, chairs, CPU, UPS, router, NAS

Many homes in Electronic City have a proper work corner: dual 27-inch monitors or an ultrawide, a standing desk, an ergonomic chair, a CPU, a UPS, a router and a tangle of cables. Here is how we approach it, and what we ask you to do yourself.

• Monitors: If you still have the original box and inserts, that is the best option and we will use it. Otherwise the screen gets a soft protective layer first, then corner protection and a carton sized to the monitor, packed upright and marked fragile. Monitor arms and stands are removed and packed separately with their screws in a labelled pouch.
• Standing desks: We remove the desktop from the frame where the design allows, label the legs, control box and cables, and keep the screws together. For motorised desks, follow the manufacturer's manual for any steps before disconnecting power. If the desk needs a brand technician, we will tell you in the quote rather than guess.
• Ergonomic chairs: Most chairs move fully assembled with stretch film and padding. We do not open gas lifts or mechanisms as routine. If a chair has to be partly opened to fit through a door or lift, we do only what the manufacturer's instructions permit.
• CPU and gaming PCs: Packed upright with padding. If you have a heavy graphics card or a custom cooler, check the maker's advice on whether it should be removed for transport and do it yourself or with a qualified person.
• UPS and inverter batteries: Share the model and battery type during the survey. Follow manufacturer and assigned-carrier requirements with qualified preparation where needed; do not disconnect a battery or open equipment as a routine packing step. Confirm whether the actual unit can be accepted and how it must travel.
• Router, modem, NAS or home server: Follow an appropriate verified backup procedure, including the authorised IT process for company data. Shut the device down cleanly. Whether to remove drives from a NAS is your decision based on the manufacturer's guidance; if you do remove them, carry them personally. ISP-owned routers may need to be returned or transferred, so check with your provider.
• Cables and small accessories: Each device's cables go in a zip bag with a label. Take a photo of the back panel and your cable routing before anything is unplugged. It saves a lot of time when you set up again.

Please keep laptops, hard drives, pen drives and anything with work data in your personal bag. Arrange authorised owner or IT release for company equipment, approved backup and shutdown, and keep confidential records and passwords with the owner. Network or software setup belongs with authorised IT support.

PG, hostel and bachelor moves

Electronic City has a large number of PGs, shared flats and 1 RK rentals, and many movers either refuse small jobs or quote them like a full house. We are happy to do small moves, but we price them on what is actually there.

• Separate what is yours from what is the owner's. In most PGs the bed, mattress, cupboard and sometimes the table belong to the owner. Make a list of your own items before the team arrives so that nothing of the owner's leaves by mistake.
• Label cartons by person in shared flats. If three roommates are moving on the same day, put a name on every carton and bag. It avoids arguments at the new place.
• Check PG and building rules. Some PG owners and wardens do not allow movers inside, or only allow shifting at certain hours. Tell us in advance so we can plan manual carrying from the room to wherever the vehicle can stop.
• Stairs and carrying distance. Many PG buildings have only a staircase and open onto a narrow lane. The number of floors, staircase turns and walking distance affect how many people and how much time the job needs.
• Bike is a separate booking. If you want your bike moved too, it is added as its own line in the quote. Whether it goes on the same vehicle depends on space, how it can be secured and the distance.
• Deposit and handover. Do the room inspection with the PG owner before you leave and take photos of the room. Keep the handover separate from the loading so that you are not rushing either.

Small office and team moves in and around E-City

We handle small office moves, for example a few workstations, a meeting room, a pantry and some IT equipment. Before quoting, we need to understand both buildings and your company's own process.

• Asset release: Who in your company approves moving each laptop, monitor, server or network device, and does IT need to sign off before and after the move?
• Building access: Does the building have a loading dock or a freight lift, and does it need a security list of crew names, vehicle number and a time window?
• Desk labels: Each desk, chair, drawer unit and its equipment gets the same label number so that it can be placed correctly in the new floor plan.
• IT equipment: Racks, servers and network gear should be powered down and disconnected by your IT team or the equipment vendor. We pack and move them; we do not configure them.

Campuses and industrial premises in Electronic City have their own gate and security rules. A booking with us does not give our team permission to enter a corporate campus. Your admin team needs to arrange that access in advance.

Local shifting charges in Electronic City

The table below is a planning range for moves starting in Electronic City. It is based on typical inventory for each home size, standard packing and a normal floor and lift situation. Your actual quote comes after we see or hear your inventory and both addresses.

Read your quote line by line

A good quote should show these separately so that nothing surprises you on moving day:

• Packing material and labour, and whether special cartons or crates are included
• Vehicle, the type allotted for your inventory
• Stairs or long carry, if there is no usable lift or the vehicle must stop far from the door
• Shuttle vehicle, if the main vehicle cannot reach the building and goods must be moved in a smaller one
• Parking or entry fees charged by a society or building, if any
• Technician work such as AC, water purifier, TV wall mount or brand-specific furniture, if you want it
• Toll, only if the actual route for the allotted vehicle uses a toll road
• GST as applicable
• Date and time slot you have chosen, payment terms and cancellation or rescheduling terms

For moves to other cities, the destination, the type of vehicle and whether your goods travel in a shared load or a dedicated vehicle matter more than the home size alone. Shared load or dedicated vehicle

In a shared load, your goods travel with other customers' consignments in the same direction. It is cheaper, but the dispatch date depends on when the load is ready, and delivery happens in sequence with other drops. In a dedicated vehicle, the truck carries only your goods, so the pickup and delivery dates are more in your control. Ask any mover to tell you separately:

• When your goods will be picked up
• When they will actually be dispatched from Bangalore
• The expected delivery window at the destination
• What happens if you are not ready to receive on the delivery day, and whether waiting or storage charges apply

Also give us a main and a backup contact at the destination, the language they are comfortable in, and a simple room map of the new home so the unloading team knows where things go.

Bike and car transport from Electronic City

Vehicles are always quoted as their own line, whether they travel with your household goods or on their own. A bike is not a free add-on, and a car normally needs its own carrier.

• Keep the RC, valid insurance and PUC copies ready, and carry the originals yourself unless asked otherwise
• Remove helmets, phone holders, loose accessories and valuables from the vehicle
• Follow the assigned carrier’s fuel or battery preparation with manufacturer guidance

Rain, staging and condition records

For household items beyond the work desk, identify glass, crockery, puja pieces, paintings and heavy furniture during the survey. Choose finish-compatible first layers and cushioning; label detachable fittings to the matching item without tape against finished surfaces. Prepare, drain and dry appliances according to their model instructions or qualified advice, allowing time before packing. Agree any crating, furniture reassembly and qualified installation scope in the estimate.

Bangalore rain does not care about your moving date. During the monsoon months, and even on a clear morning that turns cloudy, a few simple habits help:

• Keep packed cartons inside the flat or a covered area until the vehicle is ready to load, not out on the open road
• Use a covered vehicle and keep tarpaulin ready for the walk from the gate to the truck
• Choose model- and finish-compatible cushioning, cartons and outer protection, with dry items and dry staging rather than assuming extra plastic makes goods waterproof
• Do not pack anything wet, including freshly washed clothes or a recently used water purifier tank

Before loading, take photos of expensive furniture and electronics, especially any existing marks. At delivery, open and check fragile cartons in front of the team where possible. If something is damaged or missing, write it on the delivery receipt, take photos the same day and inform us immediately. For an issue discovered during later unpacking, retain the item, packaging and labels, photograph the evidence and report promptly in writing with docket and inventory references under the applicable terms. Ask about cover, declared value, exclusions and evidence requirements before booking.

How to choose packers and movers in Electronic City
