What pushes the cost up or down
- Volume and weight: a sheesham bed, a steel almirah and a double-door fridge take more space than people expect. Selling or giving away bulky items in Bengaluru often saves more than bargaining on the rate.
- Shared or dedicated: shared is cheaper for smaller loads; dedicated makes sense for a full house or a fixed date.
- Floors and carry: no lift, a narrow staircase or a long walk from the truck adds labour.
- Packing level: extra crating for glass tops, large TVs or idols and showpieces adds material cost.
- Season and dates: month-end, the period around school admissions and festival weeks are usually busier.
- Add-ons: AC or appliance technician, carpenter for complex furniture, holding and redelivery, and optional transit cover.

Weather on the route
Bengaluru's weather is mild for most of the year, but the route is not. North Indian summers, especially May and June, are very hot; the monsoon usually runs from around July to September; and in December and January fog can reduce visibility on highways in the north. Papers for transport vs long-stay RTO matters
For the carrier booking, confirm the required RC, insurance/PUC and owner-ID copies, authorisation if someone else hands over the vehicle, and any financier or model-specific requirements. Long-stay registration reassignment, NOC and applicable Uttar Pradesh vehicle tax are separate from transport. Check current requirements with the authorities for the actual circumstances; a general registration period is not a tax-free grace period.
Delivery in Lucknow: Gomti Nagar, Chowk, Aliganj and other areas
Lucknow has planned sectors, new high-rise societies and very old market lanes, sometimes a few kilometres apart. The locality name alone does not tell us whether a large truck can reach your door. The exact address does.
Gomti Nagar vs Gomti Nagar Extension
These are often mixed up in bookings. Gomti Nagar has older independent houses and plotted streets, while Gomti Nagar Extension has many large residential societies with towers, service gates and lift rules. Wide main roads do not mean every inner road or society gate is suitable for a big carrier. Please share:
- Locality and whether it is Gomti Nagar or Gomti Nagar Extension
- Sector, block or vikas khand
- Society or complex name, tower and flat number
- Service gate, lift booking rules and allowed timings, from your society office
- Name and phone number of the person receiving the goods
Chowk and Aminabad vs Aliganj and Mahanagar
Old Lucknow areas such as Chowk and Aminabad are crowded market sides with narrow lanes. Aliganj and Mahanagar are older residential areas where street width varies from one lane to the next. In both cases, we check access before quoting rather than adding a smaller vehicle by default.

Campus addresses: IIM Lucknow and others
For students, faculty and staff, an institute name alone is not a delivery address. IIM Lucknow's main campus is at Prabandh Nagar, IIM Road, Lucknow 226013, and the institute also has a separate campus in Noida at B-1, Sector 62, Noida 201307. If the booking only says "IIM", the goods can end up being planned for the wrong city. Please give the campus, block, hostel or quarter number, and a receiver who will be present. Pickup from Bangalore localities
Pickup planning starts at your Bengaluru address. Large tech-corridor societies in Whitefield and Electronic City often have fixed moving hours, lift booking and a gate pass process. Dense residential areas such as HSR Layout, BTM Layout and Koramangala have narrow cross roads where parking a big truck takes planning.
City rules on heavy vehicle timings apply in Bengaluru. Where a large truck cannot come close, a smaller vehicle may be used to carry goods to the main truck. If that is needed, it is assessed during the survey and shown in the quote. Ask your society office about moving permission and timings, and share it with us before the pickup date.
Condition Records, Transit Cover and Damage Reporting
Keep the accepted estimate, numbered inventory, loading-condition photographs, invoice, consignment reference and any selected cover together. Check whether the premium is included or additional, the declared value, insured scope, exclusions, excess/deductible and reporting procedure in the actual offered policy.
- At handover: match package counts and inspect fragile or valuable items where practical. Note visible damage, broken seals or shortage on the delivery receipt before signing.
- During unpacking: photograph the affected item, carton label and packing; retain the item and materials for assessment. Report the issue promptly in writing with the LR/docket and inventory numbers.
- Supporting records: provide the documents required by the selected cover, such as purchase/value information or a repair assessment. Follow its reporting and assessment procedure rather than assuming a universal deadline or payout.
If possession changes, confirm actual holding availability, the location, access, handling, volume/rate basis, selected cover and redelivery cost before dispatch. Climate control is a facility feature to verify, not something implied by the word “storage”.
Keep the estimates, receipts, accepted inventory and consignment papers in one moving folder. Compare the actual pickup gate, lane, service lift and parking at your Bengaluru property, including BTM Layout, Indiranagar or another source address; agree the permitted slot rather than assuming a universal early-morning schedule.
8-week moving checklist for Bangalore to Lucknow
8 to 6 weeks before
- Fix your joining or move date and check if your employer needs a particular kind of mover for reimbursement.
