Our office is at #48, 27th Main Road, Sector 1, HSR Layout, where you can discuss the actual pickup and delivery requirements. This page is meant for people who actually have to plan a move from here – a family in a Sector 2 apartment, a PG tenant with one bed and a dozen cartons, a startup admin clearing a coworking floor, or someone sending a car to Pune. You will find indicative charges, what is normally included, what costs extra, and the details we need from you so that the accepted estimate records the actual scope and any changes can be agreed.
At a glance
- Moves we handle: house shifting within Bangalore, intercity household moves, office and coworking shifts, PG and few-items moves, car and bike transport.
- Survey: video call or home visit, depending on the size of the move.
- Quote: written and item-wise, with inclusions and exclusions listed separately.
- Contact: call or WhatsApp 7015440700, email info@packersandmoversfrombangalore.in.
Your exact HSR Layout address matters more than the landmark
HSR Layout is split into seven sectors, and each sector is laid out in mains and crosses. Most people describe their location with a landmark – near BDA Complex, off 27th Main, close to Agara Lake, five minutes from Silk Board. That is useful for finding the area, but it does not tell us where a truck can actually stop, which gate the society uses for goods, or how far the crew will carry your almirah. Two flats on the same main road can need completely different plans.
When you ask for a quote, please share these details for both pickup and drop:
- Sector, main and cross, plus building name, block, floor and flat number.
- Which gate is used for move-in and move-out (many societies keep this separate from the main gate).
- Lift details – passenger lift only, or a service lift – and whether the sofa or fridge fits inside it.
- Society rules: allowed moving hours, move-out slip, owner's NOC, any refundable deposit or lift booking fee.
- How far the vehicle can stop from your door, and whether there are steps, a ramp or a narrow staircase in between.
- Whether there is covered space near the gate where cartons can be kept for a few minutes if it rains.
Three kinds of local moves from HSR Layout
| Move type | Typical vehicle | What really decides time and cost |
|---|---|---|
| Within the same confirmed sector, with both main/cross addresses | Tata Ace / small tempo, or two trips for a bigger house | Packing volume, floor and lift, society time slot. Distance hardly matters at this level. |
| Across HSR (for example Sector 1 to Sector 7) | Tempo or 14 ft truck depending on BHK | Access at both buildings, long carry from vehicle to door, time of day on the inner roads. |
| HSR to another part of Bangalore (Whitefield, Hebbal, Yelahanka, Rajajinagar) | Vehicle assessed from actual item dimensions, volume and access | The permitted route for the allotted vehicle, current road conditions, destination entry and whether both buildings allow compatible goods slots. Silk Board, ORR or Hosur Road may be relevant to a particular destination, not every HSR move. |
A wide road is not the same as easy parking. HSR's main roads are broad, but apartment driveways, basement ramps and the cross roads inside sectors are a different story. Some buildings will not let a 14 ft truck inside the compound at all. In that case we either park outside and carry goods in, or use a smaller vehicle with an extra trip – and we would rather tell you this before the quote than on the day.
Shifting services we handle from HSR Layout
House shifting within Bangalore
Discuss 1RK to 4BHK flats and independent houses moving within HSR or to another part of the city. The crew packs, loads, moves, unloads and places items in the rooms you point to. Beds and wardrobes are dismantled and refitted where their design allows it. If you only want transport and labour because you have packed yourself, tell us – compare the assessed transport-and-labour scope with a full packing quote.
Intercity household shifting from HSR Layout
For moves to Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and other cities, packing is heavier because the goods spend days in transit and get handled more than once. Compare shared part-load with a dedicated vehicle. Shared transport generally includes consolidation and possibly transfers; a dedicated vehicle reserves the agreed load space for your consignment. Confirm dispatch, handling points and the receiving appointment for either mode rather than assuming a guaranteed date. Keep the docket number for update requests to the office; the website box prepares a WhatsApp message.
Office, startup and coworking relocation
HSR has a large number of small teams – ten to forty people on a floor near 27th Main or in a coworking building near BDA Complex. Choose an office appointment around your trading or working hours and the actual permissions at both buildings; evening or weekend access needs confirmation. We pack and move desks, chairs, storage units, files, monitors, CPUs and pantry items, label them by seat or team, and place them as per your seating plan. Reconnecting your network, servers or access control is your IT vendor's work; agree the condition record, asset labels and placement scope before transport.
PG, single room and few-items shifting
Not everyone needs a full house move. Students, interns and people living in PGs often have a mattress, a study table, a chair, a small fridge and some cartons. For these jobs, assess a suitable small vehicle and the handling crew from the actual load and both entrances. You can pack the cartons yourself and we bring tape and stretch film for the furniture, or we can pack everything – the quote will show which one you picked.
Packing and unpacking
Packing is where most damage is either prevented or caused. We use cartons sized to the item, bubble wrap and foam for fragile things, corner protectors for furniture edges, and stretch film over sofas and mattresses. At the new place, unpacking can be full (cartons opened and items placed) or partial (kitchen and one bedroom first, rest later). Please mention which one you want, because it changes the time the crew stays.
Loading and unloading
Heavy items are lifted by hand with proper grip and, where needed, straps and blankets. Use a compatible loading and securing plan for the assessed weight, dimensions and fragile pieces, keeping cartons protected from stack pressure and movement. If your building has stairs only, or the vehicle has to stop far from the door, this is added in the quote as stairs or long-carry labour – not something we raise on the day.
Furniture dismantling and refitting
King-size beds, sliding wardrobes, bunk beds, study units and standing desks often need to come apart before they fit through a door or a lift. Keep screws and fittings in labelled bags secured with the matching item using a compatible method; keep adhesive off polished surfaces. We dismantle furniture that is designed to be opened up. Glued or built-in carpentry, and anything that needs a carpenter to modify, is quoted separately after we see it.
Car and bike transport
Bikes are packed with foam and cardboard on the tank, handles and mirrors, and moved in a closed vehicle or along with your household goods. Cars going to another city go on a car carrier. Follow the assigned carrier and manufacturer’s fuel or battery preparation, remove loose personal items, and note the odometer reading and existing scratches on the condition report at handover. You will need to share a copy of the RC and your ID; the original documents stay with you.
Moves that come up often in HSR Layout
Work-from-home and gaming setups
A lot of HSR residents have a desk setup that matters more than the sofa. Before moving day:
- Note the size and model of each monitor in a dual-monitor setup, the desk top and chair so suitable packaging and access can be assessed.
- Keep original boxes for monitors and the PC if you still have them – they are the best packing.
- Take your own data backup. We move hardware; we don't handle data.
- For a heavy graphics card, follow the manufacturer's advice on removing or supporting it before transport.
- Company laptops are best carried by you, with whatever release your IT team needs.
- Pack a separate "first workday" bag: laptop, charger, mouse, headset, router and its adapter, extension board, and the ethernet cable. This one does not go in the truck.
We label cables and their device with matching tags instead of taping them on the screen or desk surface.
PG rooms and furnished flats: who owns what
In a furnished flat or PG, half of what is in the room may not be yours. The bed, the fridge, the geyser, the curtains or the washing machine might belong to the landlord or the PG owner, and a roommate's cycle may be parked in the same balcony. Before we pack:
- Make a list of what is yours and show it to the crew. Anything not on the list stays.
- Finish the checkout inspection with the owner before loading, if possible, so there is no argument later.
- Your rental deposit is between you and the owner. It has nothing to do with the moving bill and we don't collect or hold it.
Startups and coworking: three separate lists
Coworking moves go wrong when nobody is sure which chair belongs to whom. Please give us three lists:
- Company-owned assets – with asset tags if you use them.
- Coworking provider's furniture and fittings – these stay behind.
- Employees' personal items – monitors, chairs, plants, bags. Better if each person packs and labels their own.
For a 15-seat office planning example, count the actual desks, chairs, monitor/CPU pairs, file cartons and pantry appliances; fifteen seats alone does not determine truck space or promise a Monday restart. Also share the destination seating plan, the building's goods-lift appointment for both sides, and the time your IT team will shut down systems. A move of desktops and monitors is not the same as recommissioning a server rack; if you have one, your IT vendor should be present.
Boutiques, tailoring units and design students
HSR has many small boutiques and workrooms, and the NIFT Bengaluru campus is also in HSR Layout, so distinguish these items from an ordinary household inventory:
- Garment racks moved with hanging stock covered, or stock folded into cartons by style and size.
- Glass display units with shelves removed and packed separately, corners protected.
- A stock count signed off by you before loading and checked again at the new shop.
- Portfolios, patterns and models packed flat between boards – not rolled unless you want them rolled.
- Prepare the actual sewing-machine model according to its manual or qualified advice, secure approved removable fittings and assess compatible casing or cushioning.
Moving out of a campus hostel follows the hostel's own permission and timing rules, which are different from a PG next door. We have no tie-up with any institute; we simply plan around the rules you share.
Villas, independent floors and buildings without lifts
Many independent houses and builder floors in HSR have a staircase and no lift, sometimes with a tight turn at each landing. A king-size bed, a three-door wardrobe or a large fridge can need extra hands, dismantling, or – rarely – lifting from the balcony. Any external lifting requires a competent specialist assessment, suitable equipment, lawful permissions and a protected working area; owner consent alone does not establish that it is feasible. It is not something we promise over the phone.
HSR Layout Moving Cost Calculator
Choose a listed destination and inventory category. Local figures are budgeting examples; intercity bands follow the route guides linked below. The actual quote needs your inventory and both entrances.
Your planning guide
Confirm packing, loading, unloading, floors/lift, carrying distance, vehicle/mode, toll treatment, applicable tax, selected cover and optional work in the dated quote. Volume choices do not apply an automatic multiplier. Vehicle acceptance and schedules are assessed separately.
House shifting charges in HSR Layout (planning guide)
The ranges below are for moves that start in HSR Layout and end somewhere in Bangalore. They are a planning guide, not a final quote. Your actual price comes after we know the item list and access at both ends.
| Move size | Indicative range | Usually covered | Ask separately about |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 RK / studio | ₹3,500 – ₹5,500 | Standard packing, loading, small vehicle, unloading | Stairs, long carry, unpacking |
| 1 BHK | ₹5,500 – ₹8,500 | Packing with bubble wrap for fragiles, loading, transport, unloading | Bed/wardrobe refitting, appliance installation |
| 2 BHK | ₹8,500 – ₹12,000 | Assessed packing and handling crew with a suitable vehicle; capacity depends on inventory | Transit cover, carpenter work, extra trip if the truck can't enter |
| 3 BHK | ₹12,000 – ₹18,500 | Full packing, larger vehicle, dismantling of standard beds | Crating for glass or artwork, AC uninstall/install |
| 4 BHK / villa | ₹18,500 – ₹25,000+ | Larger crew, one or more vehicles as per volume | Balcony lifting, multiple trips, storage if dates don't match |
| Office (small team) | From ₹10,000 | Packing of workstations, chairs, files and monitors; loading; transport | Network and server reconnection (your IT vendor), weekend or night slot |
These local bands assume the assessed household list, standard packing, working lifts or ground-floor access and nearby lawful stopping at both ends. They are not a cap for every across-Bangalore trip, heavy inventory or extra vehicle. Record the actual two pins, carry, stairs, refitting and unpacking scope. Applicable GST and any available chosen transit cover are stated in the accepted estimate.
What pushes the price up or down
- Item count, not just BHK. A 2BHK with a home gym and a bookshelf wall is closer to a 3BHK.
- Floor and lift. Fourth floor with no lift costs more labour than ground floor.
- Long carry. If the vehicle stops 60–80 metres from the door, the crew walks that distance with every piece.
- Packing grade. Standard packing for a local move, heavier packing for fragile and high-value items.
- Date. Month-end weekends and the start of the school year are busy, so slots fill early.
- Special items. Glass tables, large paintings, pianos, aquariums, marble tops.
- Add-ons. AC uninstall and install, carpenter work, electrician for lights and fans, storage.
PG, single room and few-items charges

| Single room with fridge and washing machine | ₹3,500 – ₹5,000 | ₹4,000 – ₹6,500 | Model-appropriate draining and drying before packing |
Intercity shifting charges from HSR Layout
These guides follow the specific route pages linked below. Shared and dedicated mode is named where the route guide distinguishes it; other household bands do not automatically reserve an exclusive truck. Confirm the inventory, packing, access, consolidation and handling points, dispatch date and receiving window. Few items and single-room consignments need a listed-item/minimum-space estimate; office assets and home-plus-car arrangements are assessed separately rather than charged as a BHK package.

What a quote should include – and what is usually extra
| Usually included | Usually quoted separately | Confirm before you agree |
|---|---|---|
| Packing material for the listed items | Wooden crating for glass, marble or art | Is the item list attached to the quote? |
| Crew for packing, loading and unloading | Stairs and long-carry labour, if not mentioned upfront | How many people, and from what time? |
| Vehicle and fuel for the move | Tolls for intercity, second trip, waiting time | Shared or dedicated vehicle? |
| Dismantling and refitting of standard beds | Carpenter, AC technician, electrician | Which items will be refitted? |
| Placing items in the rooms you choose | Full unpacking, storage, transit cover | Applicable GST shown as a line item? |
Comparing two quotes properly
A ₹3,000 difference between two estimates can come from different scope – fewer men, no stairs charge yet, packing material "as required", or tolls not mentioned. Put both quotes side by side and check:
- Same item list on both.
- Same vehicle type and same number of crew members.
- Whether stairs, long carry and lift fees are already counted.
- Whether GST, tolls and transit cover are inside the total or outside it.
- Advance amount, balance due date, and what happens if you change the date.
Want a written quote for your HSR Layout move? Send your item list, both addresses (sector, main, cross, floor) and your preferred date on WhatsApp at 7015440700, or call the same number. We will set up a video survey or a home visit.
How your move runs, step by step
- Share the basics. Item list or a quick video walk-through, both addresses with floor and lift details, and two or three possible dates.
- Survey. Video call for smaller moves, a home visit for larger homes, offices and anything with heavy or fragile items.
- Written quote. Items, vehicle, crew, inclusions, exclusions, applicable GST and optional cover – all in one document.
- Booking. Date and time slot fixed. You arrange the society move-out slip, the owner's NOC if required, and the lift booking.
- The day before. Prepare, drain and dry appliances according to model instructions or qualified advice, keep jewellery, cash, documents and medicines aside, and pack the first-night and first-workday bags.
- Packing day. We take condition photos of furniture and appliances, number the cartons and write an inventory. You check it and keep a copy.
- Loading and transit. Use a balanced, compatible loading and securing plan for the assessed items, keeping fragile pieces supported and protected from stack pressure. For intercity moves you get a docket number for tracking.
- Delivery. Count cartons against the inventory, open anything that looks damaged in front of the crew, note issues on the delivery receipt, then unpack and refit as agreed.
How common items are packed
| Item | How we usually pack it | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| TV and monitors | Original box if available, otherwise foam sheet, bubble wrap and a carton; carried upright | Keep remote, stand screws and wall-mount bolts in one bag |
| Fridge | Wrapped in bubble and stretch film, doors taped over the wrap, carried upright | Prepare, defrost and dry according to the model manual, allowing enough time before packing; follow its restart instructions at delivery |
| Washing machine | Model-compatible cushioning; correct transport bolts only where required by that model, with qualified preparation when needed | Drain the water and keep the inlet pipe in a bag |
| Crockery and glassware | Each piece wrapped, packed tight in small cartons marked "fragile, this side up" | Set aside daily-use plates in a separate box |
| Beds and wardrobes | Dismantled where designed to; panels wrapped, fittings in labelled bags | Empty wardrobes; leave hanging clothes on hangers if wardrobe cartons are booked |
| Sofa and mattresses | Dry, finish-compatible first layers, cushioning and assessed outer protection; wrapping does not make goods waterproof | Remove loose cushions and covers you'd like washed |
| Desktop / gaming PC | Original box or padded carton, carried upright, cables tagged separately | Back up data; follow the maker's advice on the graphics card |
| Plants | Disclose live plants separately; acceptance and preparation require actual carrier and destination assessment | Ask at quote stage for intercity moves – acceptance depends on route and carrier |
| Gas cylinder, fuel, paint, chemicals | Filled LPG cylinders and flammable liquids are not packed with household goods | Talk to your gas agency about transferring the connection |
Rain, delivery day and tracking
If it rains on moving day
For a wet-weather move, check the current forecast and access at both buildings. On a rainy day we keep cartons under the building's covered area until the vehicle is ready, use assessed dry and finish-compatible protection for upholstery and mattresses, keep cartons off wet ground, and load quickly into a covered vehicle. If the rain is very heavy we may pause loading for a while rather than rush. Good packing reduces the risk of water damage a lot, but no packing is fully waterproof, so we won't promise that.
When the new flat isn't ready
It happens – the previous tenant leaves late, the painter isn't finished, or the keys come a day after the truck. Tell us as early as you can. Ask whether waiting, storage or staged delivery is available for the actual load; any holding, storage or second-delivery charge is confirmed in writing before we do it. Please also give us a second contact person at the destination in case you can't be reached.
What your tracking ID shows
Keep the docket or consignment reference for the website status-request option or agreed booking contact. Confirm which status milestones and update channel are available; a tracking reference does not itself establish live vehicle GPS. If you need live vehicle location, ask at the time of booking and we will tell you whether it is possible for your move.
If something arrives damaged
Open the box in front of the crew, take photos, and write the issue on the delivery receipt before signing. Report promptly in writing with docket and inventory references. For a problem discovered during later unpacking, retain the item, packaging and labels and photograph the evidence under the applicable reporting terms. If you took transit cover, the claim depends on the declared value, the policy terms and the exclusions – which is why we ask you to read them at the quote stage, not after the move.
Planning your HSR Layout move with us
Office in Sector 1
We are on 27th Main Road, Sector 1. Share both exact addresses and arrange the appropriate survey; proximity to an office does not fix the allotted vehicle or arrival time.
Quote in writing
Items, crew, vehicle, inclusions and exclusions are written down before you pay anything.
Survey before price
Video call or home visit, so the price is based on what you actually have.
Local, intercity and vehicles
House, office, PG, car and bike moves handled from one place, with one number to call.
Inventory and photos
Numbered cartons and condition photos, so there is a record both of us can refer to.
Docket tracking
Intercity consignments get a docket number you can check on this site.
How to choose packers and movers in HSR Layout
Whether you hire us or someone else, these checks save a lot of trouble:
- A real address you can visit. Not just a mobile number and a logo.
- GST number on the quote and invoice. And the tax shown as a line item.
- A survey before the final price. A firm price on the phone without seeing anything usually changes later.
- An item list attached to the quote. So nobody can say "this wasn't included".
- Clear cover terms. Declared value, exclusions and the claim process in writing.
- Who does the job. Their own crew, or a subcontractor? Both can work, but you should know.
- Red flags: a quote far below everyone else, a big advance demanded before any survey, no written agreement, or the price going up after the goods are loaded.
There are also fake listings using known brand names. Check the address and the GST details before paying.
