Can the whole move be finished on the same day?
Often, yes, for a compact home that has been surveyed properly and is moving in a dedicated vehicle. But "same day" is not something any mover can honestly promise without seeing your house, because it depends on six separate stages lining up. Here is how we look at each one.

Your receiving cutoff decides the plan
Confirm the latest permitted receiving time and when your named receiver will be present. Work backwards through unloading, road time, loading and packing, leaving a practical buffer. Agree what happens if the cutoff is missed: the revised arrival, any lawful secure holding or parking arrangement, responsibility, selected cover and any additional cost. Keep essential medicines, work items and first-night supplies with you so an adjusted arrival is manageable.
When a one-day move is not realistic

What your written estimate should spell out

Services on the Bangalore to Mysore route
Full household shifting
For a full home, we pack room by room and label every carton with the room it is going to, so unloading in Mysuru goes straight into the right room instead of a pile in the hall. Cots, wardrobes and dining tables are dismantled where needed, with screws and bolts bagged and labelled to match the item, without adhesive on finished surfaces. For example, the STPI Mysuru centre is listed at 356-A, Hebbal Industrial Area, Mysuru 570018. That plot-number format is what the driver needs. Just writing "Hebbal" is risky, because Bengaluru has its own Hebbal on the other side of the route.

Unpacking, reassembly and setup in Mysuru
If it is in the scope you choose, the crew unloads cartons into the rooms marked on them, reassembles cots, wardrobes and the dining table, places the fridge and washing machine where you want them, and unpacks cartons. We suggest setting up in this order: beds first, then the kitchen basics, then the bathroom, and everything else after. Nobody wants to search for a pressure cooker at 9 pm.

It avoids the awkward call where the owner's sofa ends up in Mysuru. Where you start from in Bangalore makes a real difference on a route this short. Homes on the west and south-west side, such as RR Nagar, Kengeri, Vijayanagar, Rajajinagar, Banashankari, Jayanagar and JP Nagar, are closer to the Mysore Road and NICE Road side. A pickup from Whitefield, Marathahalli, Indiranagar, Hebbal or Yelahanka has to cross much more of the city first, which we account for in the start time. From HSR Layout, Koramangala and Electronic City, the route choice depends on the day's traffic and the road permitted for the vehicle.
On the Bangalore side, most delays come from the building rather than the road: lift booking, society moving hours, a move-out gate pass from the association, and whether the vehicle can stand inside the compound or has to wait on the main road. Sort these out a few days before.
Receiving in Mysuru: check the gate before you fix the date
In Mysuru, the small surprises usually happen at the receiving end. The same area can have a wide main road and a narrow cross road two turns inside, so we check your actual house, not the locality name.
- Independent houses and older layouts in areas like Gokulam, Saraswathipuram, Chamarajapuram and around Palace Road: check the lane width, low wires or tree branches, gate width, the staircase to the first floor, and the nearest spot where a vehicle can stand.
- Apartments in Vijayanagar, Kuvempunagar, JP Nagar and Bogadi: check move-in timings, lift booking and padding, any ID registration with security, and parking for a goods vehicle inside or outside the compound.
- Offices and units in Hebbal Industrial Area: check the gate pass, the goods gate, loading bay timing and plot numbers.
Same name, different city: Bengaluru and Mysuru both have a Vijayanagar, a JP Nagar and a Hebbal. Always share the Mysuru address with pincode, a map pin and a landmark. It sounds obvious, but it saves a lot of phone calls.

Please don't send gas cylinders with gas, petrol or diesel cans, kerosene, firecrackers or other flammable items in the goods vehicle. Cash, jewellery, important documents and medicines are best carried by you. Plan pets with a suitable specialist or appropriate personal travel; do not load them in a closed goods compartment. Ask separately about plant suitability, preparation and any applicable transport requirements.
Reusable crates: when they make sense
On a short route like this, reusable plastic crates can work well for clothes, books, shoes and utensils, because they can be emptied soon after unloading. But it depends on a few things, so ask before booking:
- Are crates available for your date, and how many?
- What condition are they in, and have they been cleaned?
- How do they come back? Either you unpack during unloading and the crew takes them back, or a later collection is arranged, with any charge mentioned in the estimate.
Crates are not a good fit if you plan to unpack slowly over a couple of weeks, and fragile items still go in cartons with proper wrapping. Choose a suitable combination for the actual items, available materials and unpacking schedule.
Transit cover on a 150 km move
A short journey still includes packing, stairs, loading, restraint, unloading and placement. Compare any selected cover’s provider, declared value, insured scope, exclusions, excess/deductible, treatment of self-packed goods, evidence and reporting procedure. Condition photographs and a numbered inventory remain useful whether or not cover is selected.
Whether or not you take cover, keep a record:
- Photograph furniture and appliances before packing, especially existing scratches and dents
- Keep a numbered inventory, checked at loading and again at unloading
- Note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing, with photos
- Report visible issues promptly; if damage appears during later unpacking, retain the item and materials, photograph the package label and follow the selected cover’s reporting procedure
Weekends, weekdays and Dasara
The Bengaluru to Mysuru corridor carries a lot of weekend leisure traffic, and some apartment societies restrict moving on Sundays and holidays. A weekday move usually gives more flexibility on vehicle and crew availability and on lift booking. That said, many working families can only move on a Saturday, and that is fine with an earlier start. If your date is flexible, ask us whether moving it changes the estimate.
Dasara is a different matter in Mysuru. During the festival, parts of central Mysuru see heavy crowds and traffic diversions, especially on the main days around the Palace area and the procession route.
