A 2 BHK going into a Kakkanad apartment, a few laptops and monitors going into an office in Infopark Phase 2, a family moving back to their own house near Tripunithura and a studio being emptied into an old building in Fort Kochi are four very different deliveries, even though all four are "Kochi" on the quote.

Things that are quoted separately when you need them: carrying goods up or down several floors without a lift, dismantling and refitting wardrobes or beds beyond basic work, AC uninstallation and installation, TV wall mounting, holding goods if your Kochi home is not ready, a second smaller vehicle when a big truck cannot reach your gate, and transit cover. Your written quote should list each of these as included, excluded or not needed.

Shared part load or dedicated truck?
Shared part load makes sense when you are sending a single room, a student's things, or a few big items with cartons. You pay for the space you use. The trade-off is time: confirm the consolidation and dispatch arrangement for your date, and it may unload at other addresses before or after yours. Do not book part load if you need the goods on a fixed date.
A dedicated truck reserves the agreed vehicle for your inventory. Confirm packing, loading point, planned dispatch, direct movement or any local transfer, and the final receiving appointment. Compare exclusive and shared options for the same item list and access scope; exclusive use does not by itself guarantee a fixed arrival date.
Why online "starting from" prices look lower
When you search for Bangalore to Kochi packers, you will see starting prices for 1, 2 and 3 BHK that look lower than ours, and sometimes two different price tables on the same page. A "starting" price is usually the smallest version of the job: light volume, shared space, ground floor at both ends, basic packing. That is a fair price for that job. It just isn't the price of a full home in an exclusive truck with a crew at the other end. When you compare, put the quotes side by side and check five things: shared or dedicated, packing level, floors and lift at both ends, tolls, and what happens if the goods need to be held.
Bangalore to Kochi Distance, Route and Delivery Time
The road the truck takes
The selected city-pin driving option was about531km, labelled via NH544. Its detailed directions included Hosur Road, NH44/NH48, NH844, NH44, NH544 and NH66 before the selected Willingdon Island approach. Other observed options were about498km viaNH66 and508km viaNH948/NH544. A route label does not mean the whole trip stays on that road; confirm the assigned goods vehicle’s actual corridor, current restrictions/diversions and your receiving gate.
Use roughly500–600km as a planning band for the actual Bengaluru pickup and Kochi endpoint. A car route is not automatic approval for a loaded goods vehicle. For an address in Aluva, Edappally, Kakkanad, Tripunithura, Fort Kochi or Mattancherry, confirm the permitted approach and final stopping point rather than adding a standard city-centre distance.
Packing, dispatch and unloading are three separate appointments
The observed selected car direction was around10 hours of driving. Household scheduling also needs packing, safe loading, driver rest, actual dispatch, any shared consolidation, local handling and an available receiving slot. Confirm the dates for each stage:

Practical tip: don't book your own train or flight so that you land in Kochi the same morning the truck is expected. Give yourself a buffer, and have someone at the Kochi address who can receive the goods if your travel slips.
Where in Kochi Are You Moving? Planning the Last Few Kilometres
People say Kochi, Cochin and Ernakulam interchangeably, and for a search that is fine. For a delivery it is not. The last few kilometres decide what size of vehicle can reach your gate, how long unloading takes and whether you need anything extra. Tell us the full address with pin code, the building or society name, and a landmark, and please don't give us only "Ernakulam".
Kakkanad: family flat or Infopark office?
Kakkanad covers both a big residential area and the IT parks, and the two need different plans. A family moving into an apartment off Seaport–Airport Road or near the Collectorate deals with the society: lift booking, permitted hours for moving, where the truck can stand and whether the security desk needs the vehicle number in advance. An office move into Infopark is decided by the tenant company and the building's facility team, not by the society rules next door. If you are an IT professional moving home to Kakkanad and your laptop belongs to the company, that laptop travels with you or follows your company's process. It does not need to go into the household truck.
Edappally and Aluva apartments
Aluva and Edappally sit on the NH544 side of the city, and may be approached on that corridor, depending on the actual assigned route. That is helpful, but it doesn't make every building easy. Check the particular building’s basement clearance, permitted stopping point, moving hours and lift booking. Ask your association secretary or building manager two things before the moving day: where can a 17 to 22 ft truck stop, and is the service lift (if there is one) free on our date and time.
Vyttila and Tripunithura flats
Vyttila is one of the busiest junctions in the city, and Tripunithura has many older residential roads that are narrower than the main road. In some cases the truck parks on the wider road and goods are carried a short distance or shifted to a smaller vehicle. We check this on the address and with you before the day, and if a second vehicle or extra carrying is needed, it goes into the quote, not as a surprise at the gate.
Fort Kochi and Mattancherry
Moving into Fort Kochi or Mattancherry means crossing the city to the western side, and many homes there are in older buildings on narrow streets, sometimes with wooden staircases. Not every gate is hard to reach, but we never assume a 22 ft container will get to the door. We confirm the receiving gate, the nearest point a large vehicle can stop, and the staircase width for big furniture before we finalise the vehicle.
Other parts of Kochi and Ernakulam district
We also plan deliveries to areas like Kaloor, Palarivattom, Panampilly Nagar, Kalamassery, Thrikkakara and Maradu. The same questions apply everywhere: exact gate, truck parking, lift or stairs, permitted timings and who will receive the goods.
Office Moving to Infopark, Kakkanad
Office coordinators moving a team, a small office or IT equipment from Bengaluru to Infopark should start with one fact: Infopark Phase 1 and Phase 2 are different campuses. The administrative address of Infopark is not your delivery address. Give the actual phase, building and service entrance rather than the park’s administrative address.
Infopark's own Phase 2 building list shows Jyothirmaya, TransAsia and Cloudscapes under the SEZ category and Caspian as non-SEZ. These classifications can change and individual floors can be set up differently, so confirm the current status with your facility team. Whether the building is SEZ or non-SEZ matters because company goods going into an SEZ unit usually move with paperwork raised by that company, and the gate will check it.
What we need from the office side
- Phase number, building name, tower or block, floor and company name exactly as the gate will see it
- Which entrance the vehicle should use and whether there is a service lift, a ramp or only the passenger lift (this varies building to building)
- Permitted unloading hours and whether the work must happen after office hours or on a weekend
- Name and phone number of the person who will receive the goods, plus a backup
- Any gate pass, vehicle entry request or material-in document the building asks for
- Your company's documents for the goods being moved (see the next point)
Have the tenant or facility team confirm the service gate, receiving bay, lift booking and vehicle-entry procedure before dispatch. Record the named receiver, backup contact and accepted delivery window on the moving plan.
Personal household goods versus company equipment
Used household goods moved by the family that owns them are personal effects. They generally travel with the owner's ID, the addresses at both ends and our packing inventory. Company equipment is different. Laptops, servers, monitors, furniture or records owned by a business usually move on the company's own documents, which may include a delivery challan, invoice or GST documents depending on the goods and the reason for the move, and SEZ paperwork if the destination is an SEZ unit. Your finance or admin team decides and issues those documents. We pack, move and hand over against them. List personal belongings and company assets separately even when combined transport is accepted, with their own package counts, owner authorisations and applicable documents.
Monsoon Delivery Plan for Kochi
Kochi gets heavy rain in the south-west monsoon from June to September and more showers in October and November. Rain is less of a problem on the highway, inside a closed truck, than in the half hour when the doors open at your building. That is where we focus.
- Dry before wrapping: anything damp at the time of packing (a mattress that was just cleaned, a fridge that was just defrosted, a washing machine with water left in the drum) is dried first. Wrapping traps moisture; it doesn't remove it.
- Covered unloading: on a wet day we look for a portico, a basement, a covered parking area or a shed to unload under, and we cover the path from truck to door with sheets where possible.
- Floor and ramp protection: agree suitable secured, slip-resistant protection for lobby/lift floors and ramps, keeping drainage and the carrying path clear. Loose wet sheets can create a slipping hazard.
- Dry staging inside: cartons are stacked off the floor in one dry room first and opened later, rather than left in a wet balcony or corridor.
- Labels and condition record: labels are checked against the inventory as each item comes off, and any carton that got wet or damaged on the way in is noted on the spot.
Check the final approach, water accumulation and safe stopping point on the delivery day. If conditions are unsuitable, agree a safe wait, revised slot or properly assessed transfer point. Keep goods off wet surfaces and use a dry staging room; a smaller vehicle is not a reason to enter an unsafe flooded lane.
Returning Families, Furnished Rentals and Possession Dates
A lot of Bangalore to Kochi moves are families going back home after years in Bengaluru, or professionals taking a role at Infopark and moving into a rented flat. Both situations raise the same question: what is actually worth moving 550 km?
Decide the inventory before the survey
If your Kochi flat is semi-furnished or fully furnished, check what is already there: beds, wardrobes, fridge, washing machine, ACs. If you are moving back into a family home, find out which furniture is staying there. Moving a ten-year-old wardrobe that won't fit the new bedroom costs you money twice. Walk the survey with a clear list of what goes, what is sold in Bangalore and what is given away.
Keep a first-night and work kit with you
Pack one or two bags that travel with you, not in the truck: bedsheets, towels, basic utensils, medicines, phone and laptop chargers, important documents, a few days of clothes, and if you work from home, your laptop, headset and anything you need for your first working day. If a monitor or chair is essential for remote work, tell us, and identify it in the loading plan and agree safe access for early setup without compromising restraint or load balance.
When the Kochi home isn't ready on time
Possession dates slip: painting isn't finished, the previous tenant hasn't moved out, the owner is still fixing the plumbing. If there is a chance of a gap, tell us at the time of booking. We will tell you what holding is available for your dates, where the goods would be kept, the cost per day or month, and the handling and redelivery charges. Don't assume climate-controlled storage is part of the move. Ask and get it in writing.
Car and Bike Transport from Bangalore to Kochi
Many people moving to Kochi want to ship the car and drive or fly down themselves. Others want the bike sent with the household goods. Both are fine, but the vehicle has its own booking, its own carrier and its own condition report.
- Before pickup: keep a copy of the RC, insurance and pollution certificate ready, remove valuables and accessories you don't want to send, and follow the assigned carrier’s fuel and battery/EV instructions and the manufacturer’s guidance.
- At pickup: the car or bike is inspected together with you, existing scratches and dents are noted, and photos are taken.
- At delivery: check the vehicle against the pickup report before you sign. Note anything new on the delivery receipt itself.
Transporting the vehicle is not the same as registering it in Kerala
Moving a Karnataka-registered vehicle on a carrier is separate from long-stay registration reassignment, NOC and applicable Kerala vehicle-tax procedures. Confirm current requirements with the authorities for the vehicle and circumstances; do not treat a general month threshold as a tax-free period. Ask whether any paperwork assistance is included in the booking and which government or service charges remain separate.

Documents for a household move
For used personal household goods, keep your ID, the full pickup and delivery addresses, and our inventory list. Keep bills for new or expensive items (a new TV, a recently bought laptop) handy, since you may be asked about them at a check. Company goods follow the company's documents, as explained in the office section above.
Tolls and the Walayar stretch
There are several toll plazas between Bangalore and Kochi, and for a truck they add up. Your quote should say clearly whether tolls are included. Trucks entering Kerala near Walayar can be stopped for routine checks. There is no fixed "border fee" that we add to a household quote as a blanket charge, and nobody can honestly promise you a no-stop crossing.
Transit cover
Transit cover is optional and works according to the policy that is actually issued. What it covers, what it costs, how the declared value is fixed, and how and when a claim must be raised all come from the policy terms, not from a flat percentage on a website.
