The figures below are guide ranges for this route, not a fixed rate card. If you see a line like "Kerala entry tax" or "checkpost charges" for your used household goods, ask what exactly it is for and whether a government receipt will be given. Ask for the legal basis and official receipt for any claimed government levy; distinguish a tax from the agreed transport expense.

Dedicated Truck or Shared Part Load: Which Suits You?

For heavy furniture or a narrow receiving appointment, compare the actual handling plan and dedicated vehicle availability. A student with a few cartons and a bicycle may find shared space economical if consolidation time suits them. The season alone does not determine the right mode.

Distance, Route and Delivery Days

Not every Bangalore to Trivandrum truck goes through Coimbatore and the Walayar border. When we checked driving directions on 21 October 2026, the map showed three main options:

Which one the truck takes depends on the vehicle size, roads suitable for that goods vehicle, traffic, weather and road works on the day, and, for shared loads, whether there are drops in Coimbatore or Kochi. Use 675–760 km as your planning number once actual pickup and delivery points are added.

A car can do this drive in about 13 hours on a clear day. That is not your moving time. A loaded truck runs slower, the driver needs proper rest, and packing, loading and unloading take their own time. Also check live road advisories close to your dispatch date, since closures and diversions come and go.

How delivery days are counted

• Dedicated road transit is counted from dispatch after loading. A shared pickup-to-delivery estimate also includes consolidation; confirm that start clock separately from vehicle carrier estimates and packing appointments.
• Packing and loading of a 2BHK usually takes most of a day by itself.
• Delivery in Trivandrum is planned in daylight, especially for houses with narrow lanes or rain-exposed unloading.
• We give you an expected date range in writing. For a 700 km move, nobody can honestly promise the exact hour.

If your Trivandrum house is not ready, ask about holding your goods for a few days or weeks. Before agreeing, check whether space is available for your dates, how the rate is calculated (by volume or by vehicle, per day or per month), handling charges for moving in and out, whether the storage area is covered and goods kept off the floor, whether transit cover continues during storage, and what redelivery will cost.

Receiving Your Goods in Trivandrum

Technopark deliveries

"Technopark" alone is not a delivery address. Technopark's official contact directory lists Phase I, Phase III, Phase IV (Technocity) and Phase V (Kollam) separately, along with the Park Centre administration block. For an office delivery, please give us:

• The phase and building name, floor and unit number
• Your company's admin or facility contact who will arrange entry permission and the goods entrance
• A person at the office who will check and sign for the goods
• Any building rules on delivery timing, lift use or material passes

If your office is in Phase V, remember it is in Kollam district, not in Trivandrum city, so distance and timing change. For flats near Technopark, around Kazhakkoottam for example, check with your association about move-in timings, service lift booking and where the truck can park.

Houses in Kowdiar, Pattom, Vattiyoorkavu, Nalanchira and similar areas

Trivandrum has many independent homes, and older or hilly pockets of areas like Kowdiar, Pattom, Vattiyoorkavu and Nalanchira can have narrow lanes or slopes leading to the gate. Every house is different, so we ask instead of assuming. A short video of the approach road helps a lot. Tell us:

• How wide the lane is and whether there is a tight turn before your gate
• Whether the road slopes steeply up or down to the house
• Gate width and height, including arches, overhead cables or low branches
• How far the nearest truck stopping point is from your front door
• Whether there is a covered car porch or sit-out where we can unload if it rains
• Steps or a narrow passage inside the compound

If the big truck cannot get close, goods are shifted into a smaller vehicle nearby. We tell you about this, and the cost, before booking, based on what we see of the address.

Ancestral homes and family receiving the goods

Often parents or relatives receive the goods while you are still finishing up in Bangalore. Share their names and numbers, a backup receiver, and the language they are most comfortable in. We will try to arrange a coordinator who can speak with them in that language and confirm it before dispatch. Send them a copy of the inventory so they can tick off cartons, and please do not ask elderly family members to handle heavy items themselves.

Packing for Kerala's Rain and Humidity

Trivandrum sees long monsoon spells and humid air for much of the year. Good packing here is less about fancy layers and more about keeping things dry from start to finish and not trapping dampness inside.

• Pack dry, in dry conditions. If it is raining in Bangalore on packing day, cartons stay indoors until the truck is ready.
• Mattresses and sofas go into covers, and cartons are sealed properly on all seams.
• Wooden furniture gets a soft layer (blanket or foam) and corrugated sheet. Plastic is used as an outer rain cover, not stuck tightly on polished wood for days.
• Closed container is preferred in the monsoon months. If an open body is used for any reason, goods are covered with tarpaulin and tied.
• Loading inside the truck: goods kept off the floor where possible and away from door gaps.
• Covered unloading: we plan where to unload (porch, parking, lobby) so cartons are not left in the open.
• After delivery: inspect and unpack promptly in a suitable dry room, following the item’s care guidance; avoid leaving damp packaging against furniture or upholstery.

Moving Heavy Teak, Rosewood and Jackwood Furniture

Many families moving to Kerala either carry heavy wooden furniture with them or move into homes that already have it. Solid teak cots, rosewood almirahs, jackwood dining sets and the traditional oonjal need more planning than a normal flat move.

• Measure first. Note the height, width and depth of each big piece, and compare with doors, stair turns and lift size at both houses. A wardrobe that came in before a renovation may not go out the same way.
• Check the joints and finish. Photograph cracks, loose carvings and the existing polish before packing, so everyone knows the condition.
• Dismantle only where the joinery allows. Some old pegged or wedged joints should not be forced. Agree whether a qualified restorer or carpenter is needed, and specify the permitted disassembly and reassembly scope.
• Crew and equipment are planned from the actual weight and route, not a fixed number for every job.
• In the truck, orientation, supports and restraints follow the assessed construction and weight; protect carved surfaces without relying on fragile sections to carry a load.

Oonjal (swing)

Assess safe detachment of the seat, chains and fittings with a competent handler; label parts and protect carved sections. Agree any reassembly in the scope. Hanging it again should be done only after a carpenter or qualified person checks that the ceiling hook or beam can take the load. If a tall wardrobe is going into a home with small children, get it fixed to the wall after setup.

Families Returning to Kerala and NRI Households

If you are an NRI who has been living in Bengaluru and are now moving your household to Kerala, this is a normal domestic move. If you also have goods coming from abroad by sea or air, that is a separate international job with its own customs clearance, so keep the two inventories separate.

• Moving into a family home that is already furnished? Measure the rooms, decide what actually goes, and sell or donate extras in Bangalore. It saves truck space and money.
• Leaving a furnished rental? Mark the landlord's items clearly so they are not packed by mistake.
• First-night box: bedsheets, towels, toiletries, chargers, medicines, documents, a kettle, a few utensils and some snacks. Keep this, your laptop and jewellery with you, not in the truck.

Documents You Will Need

For household goods

• A copy of your ID proof
• Inventory or packing list with condition notes, signed by you and us
• A simple declaration that the goods are used personal household effects, not for sale
• Lorry receipt or consignment note from us with the vehicle number
• Transit cover document with the declared value, if you take cover

Under GST rules, used personal and household effects generally do not need an e-way bill. A goods vehicle on this route should run on a proper goods carriage permit; a tourist permit is not meant for carrying freight.

For office assets, business stock or new items

Company equipment, business stock and new boxed items with a purchase bill are treated differently. They need an invoice or delivery challan, and an e-way bill wherever the GST rules require one. Tell us in advance if any part of your load falls in this category.

For your car or bike

Keep copies of the RC, insurance and PUC, plus your ID. Keep originals with you. If the vehicle will stay in Kerala for a long time, check with the Kerala Motor Vehicles Department about re-registration and road tax for your vehicle. BH-series vehicles follow separate rules.

For government transferees

If your department reimburses shifting, ask us for a GST invoice showing the route, dates and vehicle number, and check your department's claim requirements before the move.

Transit Cover

Ask for the available transit cover in your estimate, with the declared value, what is excluded and how a claim works. Read the terms before you sign. At delivery, check cartons and furniture, and write any visible damage on the delivery receipt. Open cartons soon after delivery, and if you find damage after unpacking, inform us with photos within the time mentioned in your cover terms.

Unpacking and Setup at the New Place

• Confirm in the accepted scope: unloading, room placement and any permitted furniture reassembly; do not infer these inclusions from a headline transport price.
• Optional: unpacking cartons and arranging kitchen and wardrobe items, removal of packing material (ask at booking).
