Car and bike prices are kept separate from the household table on purpose. A car on an enclosed carrier and a 2 BHK on a dedicated truck are two different bookings, and mixing them in one column only confuses the comparison. If you want a combined figure, ask for both lines on the same quote.
What actually changes your quote
- Volume and weight, not just BHK. A 2 BHK with a solid teak dining set and two almirahs can fill more truck space than a sparse 3 BHK. Measured volume (in cubic feet) is the fairest basis.
- Bulky items. Share the length, width and height of large sofas, beds, wardrobes, treadmills, display racks or machines. A piece that does not fit the lift or staircase changes the labour and sometimes the vehicle.
- Packing level. Standard packing, extra protection for polished furniture, wooden crating for glass or machines – each adds material and time.
- Access at both ends. Lift or no lift, floor number, how far the truck can park from your door, and society timing rules.
- Shared versus dedicated. Dedicated costs more but you control the dispatch date and nothing else rides with your goods.
- Date. Month-end, weekends and school-reopening weeks are usually busier; booking early helps.
- Business goods. Separate inventory, documentation and declared value for business stock add some preparation work.
- Holding, redelivery and setup. Storage days, a second delivery trip, AC fitting or carpentry at the new place.
- GST and transit cover. GST is applied as per the invoice and is shown in the quote. Transit cover, if you choose it, depends on the declared value and the policy terms – ask for both in writing.
Freight-only quote versus full-service quote
While comparing online, you may see Bangalore to Surat truck rates for a pickup or a 19 ft truck that look close to a house shifting quote. Those are usually freight rates – the vehicle and driver only. A packers and movers quote normally covers packing material, a packing crew, loading, the truck, unloading and unpacking. Before you compare two quotes, check that both include the same things:

Shared Part Load or Dedicated Truck – How to Choose
Choose a shared load if
- You are moving a 1 RK, a single room or a small 1–2 BHK
- Your dates are flexible by a few days
- Budget matters more than speed
- There are no business goods or delicate machines
Choose a dedicated truck if
- You have a full 2 BHK or larger home
- You need delivery on a planned day (new job, school admission, lease start)
- You are carrying business stock, racks or office equipment along with the house
- You do not want your goods transferred between vehicles
In a shared load, your goods travel with other customers' consignments in the same truck. It saves money, but the truck leaves only when it has enough load for Surat or nearby Gujarat cities, so the pickup-to-delivery window is longer and less predictable.
How Many Days Does Bangalore to Surat Shifting Take?
The number most people quote is road time. But a move has several clocks, and only one of them is the drive. A car can do the run in about 22–23 hours of driving; a loaded truck with driver rest, city entry timings and loading on either side takes much longer than that.

Route options for the truck
Driving alternatives observed for planning included:
- NH48 corridor – about 1,245 km, running up through north Karnataka and western Maharashtra into south Gujarat. Usually the shortest.
- NH52 alignment – about 1,320 km, a more inland route through north Karnataka and central Maharashtra.
- Combination with Maharashtra state highways and NH48 – about 1,365 km.
The driver picks the route on the day based on what is open and what is permitted for that truck size. The quote should identify the actual transport scope. Confirm any material route or access change and its effect on timing or cost rather than assuming a fixed kilometre threshold always has the same pricing effect.
Household, Student and Few-Item Moves
Family house shifting
For a family move, the survey is the most important step. We go room by room – including the loft, balcony, store room and pooja room – so nothing is left out of the quote. On packing day, the crew packs the kitchen and fragile items first, dismantles beds and wardrobes, labels every carton by room and makes an inventory list that you sign. Keep jewellery, cash, original documents, medicines and laptops with you; these should never go in the truck.
Students and young professionals
If you are moving a single room – a mattress, a study table, a chair, a small fridge, clothes and books – a shared load is usually the sensible option. Send us photos or a quick video call, and we will price it on volume. Books are heavier than they look, so pack them in small cartons and tell us roughly how many there are.
Few items only
Sending only a sofa set and a few cartons to family in Surat, or just your bike and some luggage? Mention this clearly. Small loads get better pricing in a shared truck, but the minimum charge and pickup window apply, so ask for both.
Moving Business Goods Along with Your Household
Surat is a major textile and diamond trading city, and a fair number of people on this route carry some business stock along with the house – fabric rolls, saree bundles, sample books, boutique inventory, display racks or small machines. This can go in the same truck, but it should not be treated as household luggage. Business goods have a different owner (often your firm, not you personally), a different value, and different paperwork.
Keep business stock separate on paper
- Separate inventory. One list for household goods, a second list for business items with quantity and description.
- Owner details. Name of the firm or person who owns the stock, and their GSTIN if registered.
- Invoice or delivery challan. Business goods in transit generally need a tax invoice or a delivery challan from the owner, and an e-way bill where the value and rules require it. This is generated by the owner or their accountant on the GST portal; we share our vehicle and transporter details so the document can be completed.
- Declared value and cover. Declare the business stock value separately. Household transit cover and commercial goods cover are not the same thing, so check with us or your own insurer what is covered for business stock before dispatch.
- Acceptance. Some items – cash, jewellery, loose diamonds, gemstones, gold or high-value trade samples – should travel with the owner or with a specialist valuables carrier, not in a household truck.
Textile rolls, saree bundles and samples
Fabric picks up moisture and smells, and some finishes mark easily. Before packing, check that the fabric is fully dry – especially if it was stored in a closed godown or a damp room. Fold or roll it as per the finish, wrap it in clean plastic, and pack it in strong cartons that are not overfilled. Do not put fabric cartons under heavy furniture or next to the fridge and washing machine, which may still have water inside. At the Surat end, ask for these cartons to be unloaded under cover, and open them within a day or two to air the stock instead of leaving them sealed for weeks.
Boutique inventory and shop fittings
Mannequins, garment racks, glass shelves, display counters, billing printers, POS machines and CCTV cameras are packed and labelled as a separate set. Racks are dismantled and the fittings are bagged and labelled to the matching inventory item, without adhesive on finished surfaces. We photograph wiring before disconnecting CCTV or billing systems, so your electrician can reconnect them at the new shop.
Calibrated machines and precision equipment
Precision scales, polishing machines, embroidery or stitching machines with set calibration should be shut down, secured and prepared by the owner's own technician or the manufacturer's service team before we pack them. After transport, the same type of technician should install and check them. Our crew handles the crating, loading and transport; we do not open, adjust or recalibrate machinery.
Office Relocation and Work-From-Home Setups
Many people moving from Bengaluru to Surat are either shifting a small office or carrying a serious home-office setup. A little preparation saves a lost first working day.
- Back up first. Take a full backup of laptops, desktops and any small server or NAS before move day. Keep one copy with you.
- Company devices. Office laptops and storage devices with company data usually travel with the employee – check your company's IT policy.
- Drives and internal parts. We do not remove hard disks, GPUs or other internal parts. If your IT team wants a drive removed and carried separately, they should do it before packing.
- Monitors and monitor arms. Monitors are packed in their original boxes if you have them, or with thick padding. Monitor arms and desk clamps are removed and their parts bagged together.
- Ergonomic chairs and desks. Keep the manual and setup photos. Disassemble only as the model allows; gas lifts, desk motors and complex components need authorised or manufacturer-guided handling.
- Network labels. Label cables, routers and switch ports before disconnecting. A photo of the back of the rack or desk helps a lot.
- Confidential files. Office files are packed in sealed, numbered cartons and listed separately. You can seal and sign the cartons yourself.
- First-workday kit. Keep one bag with your laptop, charger, headset, a spare cable and an extension board, so you can work even if the cartons open a day late.
Packing for Surat's Monsoon and Moisture
Surat gets heavy rain from June to September, and the city sits close to the coast. Assess sensitive instruments, artwork, specialist electronics and commercial stock separately rather than assuming ordinary freight conditions suit everything. For routine accepted household goods, practical preparation includes:
- Do not pack anything damp – wash and fully dry clothes, curtains and bedsheets a few days before.
- Prepare, drain/defrost and dry appliances according to their model instructions or a qualified technician, including any required transit fittings.
- Wrap mattresses and sofas in plastic covers so they don't pick up dust or water during loading and unloading.
- Wrap wooden furniture surfaces and corners, so they are not scratched and don't sit in direct contact with wet floors.
- Choose packing materials compatible with the particular item and finish. Do not add chemicals or moisture-control products indiscriminately; dry goods and suitable covered handling remain essential.
- On delivery day in the monsoon, keep a dry place ready near the entrance and ask for cartons to be unloaded under a shed, porch or parking cover.
- Open cartons, especially clothes and fabric, within a day or two of arrival. Goods that stay sealed for weeks in a humid flat are the ones that smell musty.
Car Transport and Bike Transport from Bangalore to Surat
Car transport
Your car goes on a car carrier – open or enclosed – and not inside the household truck. Before pickup, we note the car's condition with photos, odometer reading and existing scratches, and you sign the inspection sheet. Remove personal items and valuables, record keys and accessories handed over, and agree FASTag handling and any authorised driven collection/drop legs. Follow the assigned carrier’s fuel/battery preparation with manufacturer guidance. Usual transit is 4–5 days.

Bike transport
Bikes and scooters are packed with foam and corrugated sheets on the tank, handle, mirrors and silencer, and crated where needed. Mirrors may be removed and packed separately. Receiving Your Goods in Surat
The Surat end decides how smooth delivery day is. Tell us early what kind of place you are moving into.
Residential areas – Adajan, Athwa, Piplod, Vesu, Pal, Althan, City Light
Most of these areas have gated societies and high-rise towers. Before the truck reaches Surat, check with your society office:
- The actual building’s permitted move-in hours and days, including any weekend or evening restriction
- Gate pass or NOC from the owner, and whether the security needs your rent agreement
- Service lift booking, lift padding, and whether a refundable deposit is taken
- Where a large truck can stand – inside the campus, at the gate or on the main road
If the truck cannot enter or park close to the tower, we may need a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, which we will tell you about in advance.
Shops and market units – Sahara Darwaja, Varachha and the textile markets
Commercial areas often have busy roads, limited loading space and timing restrictions for heavy vehicles. Give us the exact shop number, building or market name, floor, and whether there is a goods lift or only stairs. If someone from your side is not at the shop, name a receiver and a backup person who can sign the delivery.
Offices in Khajod and DREAM City
DREAM City in Khajod – where the Surat Diamond Bourse campus stands near the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre – has large office buildings with their own facility management rules. For a delivery here, get the plot, tower, floor and unit number exactly right, and check with the building management about the goods entry gate, permitted delivery hours, security registration of the crew, and service lift booking. Facility teams may also ask for a list of items and the vehicle number in advance.
Holding, Storage and Setup at the New Place
Sometimes the Surat flat is not ready on the day the truck arrives – possession is delayed, painting is pending or the earlier tenant has not moved out. Ask about holding before you book:
- Is holding available for your dates, and where will the goods stay?
- How is it charged – per day, per week or per cubic foot?
- Will the goods be unloaded into storage, or kept in the vehicle? Each extra handling adds some risk.

Used personal and household effects are listed as exempt from GST e-way bill requirements. Keep them distinct from commercial stock or business assets, which require their own applicable paperwork.
