Shifting from Bengaluru to Nagpur is a long road job. Depending on where the goods are picked up, where they are delivered and which corridor the truck is permitted to use, you are looking at roughly 1,100 to 1,250 km. Most people who call us for this route are families moving for a new job, IT professionals joining an office in MIHAN, or someone who has to shift a full home-office setup along with the household.
The questions are nearly always the same. What will it cost? Shared load or dedicated truck? How many days, and from when do we count? And what happens at the Nagpur end if the flat or office is not ready on the day the truck arrives? This page answers each of these in plain terms. The numbers below are planning ranges, not a fixed rate card. Your actual quote comes after we see your inventory on a video call or home visit and check access at both addresses.
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Road distance (observed driving options) | About 1,095 km via NH44; about 1,133 km via Hyderabad–Karimnagar–Ramagundam Road and NH44; about 1,229 km via NH50/NH361 |
| Distance to plan with | Roughly 1,100–1,250 km, gate to gate, depending on your exact pickup and delivery points and the corridor allowed for the vehicle |
| Moving options | Dedicated truck, shared load, few-items move, bike transport, car transport |
| Indicative windows | Dedicated: indicative 2–3 days from dispatch to planned delivery (3–4 days for larger 3 BHK/villa loads). Shared: indicative 5–7 days from pickup; confirm consolidation. Vehicles: planned separately |
| How the quote is made | Video or home survey, access check at both ends, written estimate listing what is included and what is extra |

What decides your Bangalore to Nagpur moving cost
Two families with "2 BHK" written on the enquiry can get very different quotes, and both quotes can be fair. BHK is only a rough starting point. A 2 BHK with a king-size bed, a six-door wardrobe, two ACs and a home gym fills far more space than a 2 BHK with basic furniture. A BHK label also does not mean a whole truck is reserved for you unless the quote clearly says "dedicated truck".
These are the things that actually move the number:
- Inventory and volume — the item list and how much space it takes once packed, not just the room count.
- Mode — dedicated truck for your goods only, or a shared load that travels with other consignments.
- Large item dimensions — sofas, wardrobes, double-door fridges, pianos, treadmills and glass tables need size checks, sometimes dismantling.
- Packing level — basic packing, full packing, or extra protection for fragile and high-value items.
- Access at both ends — lift size, stairs, how close the truck can stop, society entry hours.
- Service legs — packing, loading, transport, unloading, placement, unpacking, reassembly. Not every quote covers all of these.
- Tolls, GST and cover — whether tolls are inside the price, the GST applicable to your invoice, and whether you have selected transit cover.
| Item | Ask the mover | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory list | Is the quote based on a written item list? | Items added later can change the volume and the price |
| Mode | Dedicated truck or shared load, written plainly? | Decides handling, timing and cost |
| Packing and materials | Included, or charged separately? | Fragile items, TVs and IT gear may need specific materials |
| Loading and unloading | Included at both ends? | Some low quotes cover only one end |
| Placement, unpacking, reassembly | Which of these are included? | Beds, wardrobes and desks take time to put back together |
| Stairs, long carry, shuttle | Priced after the access check, or extra on the day? | This is where most delivery-day surprises come from |
| Tolls | Included or additional? | A long route means a meaningful toll amount |
| GST | What GST applies to this invoice, and is it inside the total? | It depends on how the service is billed; get it written |
| Transit cover | Selected or not? Declared value, excess, exclusions? | Cover is a separate choice with its own terms |
| Vehicle, holding, setup | Quoted as separate lines? | These are add-ons and should not be hidden inside a lump sum |
Bangalore to Nagpur shifting charges: planning ranges
Use the ranges below to set a budget and to compare quotes sensibly. They are not all-inclusive prices. The final figure depends on your surveyed inventory, packing, access at both ends, the service legs you choose, toll inclusion, applicable GST and whether you take transit cover.
| Move type | Dedicated truck | Shared load | Points to note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK household | ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 | ₹10,000 – ₹16,000 | A heavily furnished 1 BHK can cross these ranges |
| 2 BHK household | ₹28,000 – ₹40,000 | ₹18,000 – ₹28,000 | Wardrobes, double-door fridge and number of ACs make the biggest difference |
| 3 BHK / villa | ₹45,000 – ₹65,000 | ₹32,000 – ₹48,000 | Larger homes may need a bigger vehicle or more crew; checked at survey |
| Office / IT setup | ₹35,000 – ₹55,000 | Only for a small, well-packed lot; decided after survey | Depends on actual assets, packing and handling at the office building |
| Few items / student / PG / luggage | Not usually cost-effective | Quoted on surveyed minimum volume | Send a photo list of items and carton count for a quick estimate |
If a quote is far below these ranges, check what has been left out. Usually it is unloading, stairs, tolls, packing materials or GST. A quote that looks cheap and then grows on the delivery day is not cheap.
How many days from Bangalore to Nagpur, and from when you count
Confusion about timing mostly comes from people counting different things. One person counts from the day the truck leaves. Another counts from the packing day. A third counts till the last carton is opened. So here is the move broken into stages.
| Stage | Dedicated truck | Shared load |
|---|---|---|
| Survey and estimate | Before booking; video call or home visit | Same |
| Packing and loading | Usually the pickup day; large homes may need longer, confirmed at survey | Same; goods are labelled as your consignment |
| Dispatch | Truck leaves once your goods are loaded | Leaves when the shared load is ready, so there can be a wait |
| Movement and receiving plan | Indicative 2–3 days from dispatch to planned delivery; about 3–4 days for larger 3 BHK/villa loads | Part of the overall window below |
| Receiving slot | Fixed with you and your society or office | Same |
| Indicative window | About 2–3 days from dispatch to planned delivery, or 3–4 for larger loads | About 5–7 days from pickup to delivery |
Research guides also show about 4–6 days for household moves and 5–7 days for vehicles, with scope and timing definitions varying. Compare the actual dates on your estimate: packing/pickup, any consolidation wait, dispatch and planned delivery. The dedicated guide above includes the road and receiving stages after dispatch; do not add those same stages twice. A separate vehicle consignment needs its own collection and arrival window.
These are planning windows, not a guarantee. We do not promise a 2-day express delivery. Driver rest, entry hours for goods vehicles in either city, heavy rain, road works or a holiday rush can push the date to the upper end of the window or past it. Your confirmed dates go in the booking, and if anything changes on the road the receiver is informed.
The route, without the guesswork
Mapping tools show more than one driving option between Bengaluru and Nagpur. On the day we checked, the options were about 1,095 km via NH44, about 1,133 km via the Hyderabad–Karimnagar–Ramagundam Road and NH44, and about 1,229 km via NH50/NH361. For a moving truck the real distance also depends on your exact pickup gate in Bengaluru, your delivery gate in Nagpur and which corridor is permitted for that vehicle, which is why we plan with roughly 1,100–1,250 km.
You may see a car driving time of around 19 hours quoted online. That is a car on an open road, not a loaded truck with a driver's rest schedule, and it does not include packing, loading or unloading. It is a poor guide to when your goods will arrive.
Before dispatch we confirm the corridor, the date, any vehicle permissions and the weather outlook for that week. If you see older articles describing this route through Solapur, Aurangabad or the Madhya Pradesh border, or claiming a distance of around 900 km, do not plan from them.
Shared load, dedicated truck or few-items move
| Point | Dedicated truck | Shared load | Few-items move |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it suits | Full homes, fragile or high-value items, fixed joining dates | Smaller homes, flexible dates, tighter budgets | Students, PG residents, a few cartons plus a bed or fridge |
| Handling | Confirm direct movement and any access transfer at either end | Travels with other consignments, so more handling is possible | Same as shared |
| Timing | More control over dispatch | Depends on when the load is ready | Depends on the shared schedule |
| Cost | Higher | Lower for the same goods | Priced on a surveyed minimum volume |
| Watch out for | Paying for a bigger truck than you need | Unclear delivery date; ask how it is confirmed | Poor packing of loose bags; use proper cartons |
Illustrative example (not a customer job)
Say a couple in a 2 BHK in HSR Layout has one joining date fixed in MIHAN and one partner who can work from home for a week. They also have a 150 cc bike. If they choose a shared load, the household budget sits in the lower band, but the delivery date is a window, so they would carry a suitcase and a first-week box with them. If they choose a dedicated truck, they pay more but can plan the receiving day around the joining date. In either plan, confirm whether the bike uses a suitable household-goods arrangement or a separate carrier, and record its packing, securing, handling and arrival window. The right choice here is about the date, not the furniture.
Receiving in Nagpur: MIHAN, home offices and Butibori
The Nagpur end decides how smooth the whole move feels. Three kinds of delivery come up often on this route, and each needs different preparation.
Office unit in MIHAN or an IT park
The MADC overview of MIHAN describes a multi-product SEZ with IT and office use among other uses, plus provision for residential and commercial areas. So "MIHAN" on its own is not an address. We need the exact plot, building, unit and gate, whether the delivery is inside the SEZ or a non-SEZ area, the name of the authorised receiver, and the entry window the building allows.
Office assets move on documents your company's accounts or admin team issues. What paperwork applies inside an SEZ is their call, not ours, so please confirm it with them in advance. Do not assume tax exemptions or any automatic airport or customs access just because the address is in MIHAN.
Home or home office (for example, Dharampeth)
An employee moving house to Nagpur for a MIHAN job is still doing a personal household move. Your sofa does not become SEZ cargo because your office is in MIHAN. The household goes to your home address on household paperwork, and any company-owned laptop or equipment goes on whatever document your employer issues for it.
For a home office, decide in advance which room gets the desk, where the power points and router are, and whether the internet connection will be live on the day you arrive.
Industrial goods to Butibori
Factory and warehouse deliveries in the Butibori industrial area work differently from homes. Expect gate passes, a named receiver, a business invoice or delivery challan, and fixed receiving hours. Tell us whether there is a loading dock, a forklift or only manual unloading, and the weight and size of the heaviest piece.
Machinery, racks and heavy industrial items are quoted after we see them. We will not quote a household rate for business goods.
Society gates, lifts and stairs at your new address
Whether it is a gated society off Wardha Road, a building in Manish Nagar, a house on the Koradi Road side or an older lane in Dharampeth, we check the same things before the quote is final:
- Gate and entry hours — when the society or building allows a goods vehicle inside, and whether advance permission is needed. Rules differ from building to building, so we ask your society office rather than assume a fixed notice period.
- Truck stopping point — exactly where the truck can stand. A live location pin or a short video from the gate helps a lot.
- Long carry — the walking distance from that point to your door.
- Shuttle need — if the lane is too narrow for the main truck, goods may be shifted to a smaller vehicle for the last stretch.
- Lift and stairs — lift door width and depth, whether goods are allowed in it, and stair landings. A wardrobe or L-shaped sofa that does not clear a stair turn will need dismantling or another plan.
Use the actual carry distance, floor, lift availability and transfer requirement to agree the assessed access scope. Record the work and its cost basis before booking; if the address or access changes, review the revised scope and obtain agreement before extra work.
Home-office and office IT relocation
A lot of people on this route move a serious home-office setup: a desktop or workstation, two monitors, a monitor arm, an ergonomic chair, a standing desk, a UPS and a router. Small offices move a few workstations, a network rack and some storage. Here is how the work is split.
What the owner or your IT team does
- Takes a backup and checks that it actually opens before the move. A backup no one has tested is not a backup.
- Shuts down machines, servers and network equipment in the authorised way.
- Keeps passwords, licence keys and any encrypted drives with the owner, not in the cartons.
- Restarts and tests everything at the Nagpur end.
We pack and move the hardware. We do not log in, copy data, take backups or restart systems, and nobody can honestly promise zero risk to stored data. That responsibility stays with the owner.
What the packing team does
- Labels by seat and component — for example "Seat 4 / Monitor L", "Seat 4 / Monitor R", "Seat 4 / CPU", so setting up is quick at the destination.
- Uses protection that suits each item — loose components such as drives or RAM go in antistatic shielding bags, assembled units need compatible support and suitable packing, while monitors need pressure-free screen/corner protection and manufacturer orientation guidance, ideally in a suitable original box. There is no single bag that suits every device.
- Keeps cables with their machine — coiled, tied and bagged with a label.
- Dismantles desks, monitor arms and chairs where needed — screws, bolts and Allen keys go into small labelled bags, kept in one parts box per workstation or tied to the frame. We avoid sticking tape on finished or painted surfaces.
- Flags batteries — UPS batteries and battery packs are checked separately, since carrier acceptance and handling depend on the type.
At the Nagpur end, please make sure power, a few working sockets and the internet connection are ready before the team arrives, so the owner's IT person can test the setup the same day.
Household packing, unloading and setting up the new home
For a regular house shift, a full-service move usually covers packing, loading, transport, unloading, placing furniture in the right rooms, unpacking the cartons you choose and reassembling the furniture that was dismantled. Your estimate should say which of these you are getting.
- Before pickup — an item list, a walk through each room, and marking items that are not to go (for example, a fridge you are selling).
- Packing — cartons labelled by room and contents, extra layers for glass and crockery, mattress covers, corner guards for furniture, wrapped TVs.
- Unloading and placement — cartons go to the room on the label, and furniture goes where you point.
- Unpacking and reassembly — beds, wardrobes, dining tables and desks put back together; packing debris collected.
AC, TV, RO, curtains and furniture setup
Installation work needs the right person. AC installation and gas checks are a technician's job. RO purifiers are best fitted by the brand service team or a local technician. TV wall mounting depends on whether the wall can take it, and curtain rods need drilling. Tell us at the survey what you want done in Nagpur, and we will confirm whether a technician can be arranged for your date or whether you should book the brand service directly. We will not promise a same-day technician we have not confirmed.
Your first-working-day box
Pack one box or suitcase that travels with you, not in the truck: laptop and charger, ID and office documents, a few days of clothes, medicines, phone chargers, basic kitchen items, bedsheets and a towel. If the goods arrive at the end of the window, this box keeps the first few days normal.
Heat, rain and a dry, covered handover
Nagpur summers are very hot and the monsoon brings heavy rain, so the season changes how we pack and receive. A regular covered truck is not temperature-controlled, so we plan around that instead of pretending otherwise.
- In the monsoon, wooden furniture, mattresses and electronics need dry, finish-compatible protection, and we look for a covered spot to unload — a porch, a basement or a stilt parking area.
- In peak summer, we try to fix the receiving slot for the cooler part of the day where the society allows it, and avoid leaving electronics in a parked truck under the sun.
- For items with storage instructions from the manufacturer — some electronics, musical instruments, certain furniture finishes — please tell us, and we will plan packing around those instructions.
If the Nagpur house is not ready: holding your goods
Possession dates slip. Painting runs late. Sometimes the office flat is ready but the family home is not. If your goods may need to wait between pickup and delivery, raise it at the quote stage. We will tell you plainly whether a holding option is available for your dates and on what basis. Ask these questions of any mover, including us:
- Is holding available for my dates, and is it at the Bengaluru end or the Nagpur end?
- What kind of facility is it, and can I see it or get photos?
- What is the rate based on — volume, weight, consignment, per day or per week?
- Will the goods be unloaded and handled again going in and out? Are those handling charges separate?
- Does transit cover continue while the goods are held, or is separate cover needed?
- How much notice is needed for redelivery, and what does the redelivery leg cost?
Bike and car transport to Nagpur
| Vehicle | Planning guide | Confirm before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Standard commuter bike / scooter | About ₹4,000–₹7,500 | Model, packing, securing, carrier mode, collection/drop legs and dates |
| Hatchback to SUV | About ₹10,000–₹22,000 | Actual model and size, open/enclosed carrier availability, ground clearance, service legs and selected cover |
| Heavy, premium, modified, non-running or EV model | Assessed separately | Handling, dimensions, battery/manufacturer requirements and actual carrier acceptance |
Vehicles are planned separately from the household, even when you book everything together. A bike may travel in a carrier built for two-wheelers or with other goods, and a car usually goes on a car carrier. Which option is available depends on your model and the carrier schedule, which we check before quoting. The vehicle often arrives on a different day from the household goods, so plan your first few days in Nagpur with that in mind.
- Condition record — photos from all sides, the odometer reading and any existing scratches noted together at pickup.
- Preparation — follow assigned carrier/manufacturer fuel and battery instructions, remove loose accessories and valuables, and agree fitting preparation, FASTag handling and any authorised driven collection/drop.
- Documents — keep copies of the RC, insurance and your ID ready; keep originals under the owner’s control and confirm any additional authorisation or model-specific documents.
- EVs, superbikes and premium cars — quoted after assessment, because battery, weight, ground clearance and value change the handling plan.
- Staying long term — if you will be in Maharashtra for a long period, check the re-registration rules with the Nagpur RTO.

Documents for a Bangalore to Nagpur move
| Type of move | Usually needed | Who confirms |
|---|---|---|
| Used personal household goods | ID, both addresses, item list, self-declaration that these are your used personal belongings | You and the mover |
| Company laptop or equipment with a household move | Whatever document your employer issues for company assets | Your employer's admin or IT team |
| Office or business goods | Invoice or delivery challan, and an e-way bill where the rules apply | The owner's accounts team |
| SEZ delivery in MIHAN | Documents as required for that unit's receiving | The unit owner and their accounts team |
| Bike or car | RC copy, insurance copy, owner ID | You and the mover |
Not every household move needs an e-way bill. An e-way bill is linked to the movement of goods as a business consignment, and used personal household goods normally travel on an item list and a self-declaration. Business goods are a different matter, and the owner's accounts team should decide what paperwork applies.
Tracking and receiver updates
Once your goods are dispatched, you get a consignment ID that you can check with the "Request a Consignment Update" box on this site. Please share one receiver name and phone number for Nagpur, plus a backup contact. Before arrival, the receiver gets a call to confirm the slot, the gate and the truck stopping point. If the date moves because of the road or the weather, the receiver hears it from us, not from the driver at the gate.
Transit cover and if something is damaged
Good packing reduces risk, but on a 1,100 km road move nobody can honestly say risk is zero. Transit cover is a separate choice. Before you select it, ask for the declared value basis, the excess, the exclusions and how claims are reported under the actual policy terms.
- Make a condition record before loading — photos of valuable and fragile items.
- At delivery, check cartons and furniture before signing, and write any visible damage on the delivery receipt.
- Take photos of the affected item, package label and packing, and retain the item and materials for assessment. Report damage found during later unpacking promptly with the consignment and inventory numbers.
- Report it within the period stated in your policy terms.
Check the selected policy’s evidence, reporting and assessment procedure, declared value and excess/deductible. Keep the estimate, inventory, invoice, consignment reference and condition record together so the affected item and handling history can be identified.
How booking works
- Share your details — pickup area in Bengaluru, delivery area in Nagpur, preferred dates and a rough item list.
- Survey — a video call or home visit to see the goods, plus photos or a pin from the Nagpur address.
- Written estimate — mode, inventory, service legs, access charges, tolls, GST, cover and add-ons, each stated.
- Confirm dates — pickup date and the delivery window written in the booking.
- Pack and load — inventory signed at pickup.
- Transit and updates — consignment ID and receiver calls.
- Receive and set up — unloading, placement, reassembly and whatever setup was booked.
