Who makes this move, and what each one usually needs

• Families with a full house – complete packing, loading, unloading, placement in rooms, and often bed and wardrobe reassembly on the day. Most choose a dedicated truck for a 2 BHK or bigger.
• Government transferees – a fixed joining date, an allotted quarter or flat in Atal Nagar or the city, and sometimes a gate pass or entry process at the colony. The delivery day has to match when the keys are actually in hand.
• Students and single professionals – a few cartons, a bike, maybe a study table and mattress. A shared truck or part-load is usually enough, and the timeline is longer.

Why the same BHK can cost very differently

We don't price by "BHK" alone and we don't use a fixed per-kg or per-km formula, because it misleads people in both directions. A 1 BHK with a king-size bed, a 7-seater sofa and a piano can need more space than a sparse 2 BHK. Old-city delivery with a shuttle, a walk-up fourth floor, or a separate unpacking day all add real work. Office shifting, a few items, student and luggage moves

These don't fit a BHK table, so we price them after an assessment. For an office we need the headcount, an asset list (desktops, monitors, printers, racks, chairs, workstations, files), and the access details at both buildings. For a few items or student luggage, a carton count with rough dimensions and the heavy pieces is enough to give you a shared or part-load quote. Small loads travel with other consignments, so allow more days than a dedicated truck.

Bangalore to Raipur distance, route options and delivery days

When we checked the drive on maps for this route, three options came up. Which one a loaded truck actually takes depends on the vehicle, the corridor permitted for it on that date, and where in Bengaluru and Raipur it starts and ends.

For planning, take it as roughly 1,370 to 1,450 km door to door once you add the city stretch from your Bengaluru society and the last leg to your Raipur address. You may also see a shorter figure of around 1,280 km online. That one came up for two-wheeler mode, not for a truck, so don't use it to judge a moving quote. Similarly, maps show a car can cover the drive in about 25 hours of driving. That is only the steering time for a car; it is not how long a household move takes.

The clocks in a move

People often count days from the booking call. In reality a move has separate stages, and only one of them is the road:

1. Survey and quote – video call or home visit, then a written quote.
2. Packing day – a 2 BHK is usually packed in a day; bigger homes may need more.
3. Loading – same day as packing or the next morning, depending on lift and parking slots in your society.
4. Consolidation (shared only) – your goods wait until the shared load is complete.
5. Dispatch and road transit – the planning figures in the tables start here.
6. Raipur receiving – gate entry, shuttle if needed, unloading and placement.
7. Unpacking and setup – the same day or a scheduled day, as agreed.

Elsewhere in the market you'll see 4–6 days quoted for household goods and 6–8 days for vehicles on this route. Treat every such number, including ours, as a planning figure. Delivering in Raipur city vs Atal Nagar (Naya Raipur)

"Raipur" on a quote can mean two very different deliveries. The established city and the planned capital at Atal Nagar have different roads, buildings and entry arrangements, so we plan them separately from the start.

Shankar Nagar, Telibandha, Pandri and the older city

Localities like Shankar Nagar, Telibandha, Devendra Nagar, Samta Colony and Civil Lines have a mix of independent houses, older apartment buildings and newer societies. Some streets are comfortable for a truck; others, especially around Sadar Bazar, Purani Basti and parts of Pandri, are narrow or busy with market traffic. In such cases the main truck stops on a wider road and goods move to the door by a smaller vehicle or by hand. That shuttle is not a fixed fee. It is worked out from the actual volume, the distance between the truck and your door and the number of trips needed, and it is written into your quote before the move, not added on the day.

Atal Nagar sectors, government units and campuses

Atal Nagar has wide planned roads, but wide roads don't mean any truck can go anywhere at any hour. Government housing, offices, institutional campuses and gated societies each have their own entry process. Some want a gate pass or a prior intimation, some allow goods vehicles only at certain times, some need the receiving person present at the gate. These rules differ by building and change over time, so we don't assume a common timing for every sector. We ask for the exact sector, block or building and the contact who manages entry, and plan the delivery slot around that.

Example: why the exact address matters

Take a campus address in Atal Nagar. The official contact address for IIM Raipur is Atal Nagar, P.O. Kurru (Abhanpur), Raipur 493661, Chhattisgarh. That is a different pin code and a different approach from a flat in Shankar Nagar or Telibandha in the city core, even though both say "Raipur". For any campus, hostel or institutional address, we need the specific building, hostel or unit, the gate to use, and the name of the person who will receive, not just a city pin dropped on a map. (This is only an illustration of how to write a destination address.)

Packing for heat, rain and a long road journey

Your goods spend days on the road and pass through hot, dry stretches and, in season, heavy rain. Ordinary moving trucks are not climate-controlled, so the work is in packing properly and keeping things dry at both ends.

Labels and hardware

• Every carton is numbered and marked with the room it goes to, so the crew can place it straight into the right room in Raipur.
• Screws, bolts and fittings from beds, wardrobes and TV mounts go in small sealed bags, labelled with the item, and kept with that item.

Monsoon and summer handling

Raipur's main rains are roughly from June to September, and Bengaluru gets its own spells too. In the rains we pack only dry items, load from a covered spot like stilt parking or a basement, keep cartons off wet floors and use a closed-body vehicle or proper tarpaulin cover. Damp clothes, mattresses or wooden furniture should never be sealed in plastic, because trapped moisture does more harm than the rain itself. In summer, electronics and anything with a battery should not sit in direct sun before loading or after unloading. Highly sensitive items like artwork, instruments or specialist electronics need their own plan, and we'll discuss that during the survey.

Office and IT relocation from Bengaluru to Raipur

An office move works only when both sides are clear about who does what. Here is how we usually split it:

First working day kit

Each person should keep essential work devices, chargers, headset, ID and secure access tokens with them for the first working day. Label any non-sensitive desk essentials for priority opening. The IT owner should decide which network devices or business records travel separately and arrange power, connectivity and authorised restart at the Raipur office. Do not put passwords or access credentials on moving labels.

Clinics and specialist equipment

Clinic furniture and accepted, safely packed equipment need an owner-authorised list and a separate handling assessment. • At pickup we record the vehicle's condition with photos and an inspection sheet signed by both sides. Do the same check before you sign at delivery.
• For electric vehicles, tell us the battery details in advance, as handling and charge level requirements differ.
• If you plan to re-register the vehicle in Chhattisgarh, check the RTO process separately. That is apart from transport.

Documents for a Bangalore to Raipur move

Household goods

Keep ID proof, both addresses, the receiver's contact and an item list with approximate values (this is also needed if you take transit cover). Under the GST rules, used personal and household effects are among the goods that don't need an e-way bill, so a normal family move generally doesn't require one. We'll still give you a consignment note and packing list for the journey.

Office equipment and business goods

Office assets, new goods, stock or anything moved for business are different. These need proper documents such as an invoice or delivery challan, and an e-way bill where the rules and the value of the goods require it. Your accounts team should confirm what applies before the packing date.

RC, valid insurance, PUC and the owner's ID. If the vehicle is on loan, keep the lender's details handy as well.

Storage, unpacking and setup in Raipur

If your Raipur house isn't ready

It happens often, especially with government accommodation or a new flat waiting for possession. Short-term holding can be arranged, subject to availability. Setup after delivery
