Meghalaya is home to the wettest places on Earth (Mawsynram and Cherrapunji), and Shillong itself receives intense, prolonged rainfall. When your shipment arrives in the North East, it might be subjected to heavy downpours. Standard corrugated boxes dissolve quickly under such conditions, leading to catastrophic damage to books, electronics, and wooden furniture.

Our 4-Layer Waterproof Packing Process

To combat the extreme moisture and humidity, we have developed a strict 4-Layer Monsoon Protocol that every Shillong-bound shipment must undergo:

• Layer 1: Desiccant Insertion

  Before sealing any box, we place industrial-grade silica gel packets inside. This actively absorbs any internal humidity that might cause mold on leather or fabrics during the long transit.

• Layer 2: Corrugated Sheet Wrapping

  Furniture and large appliances are tightly wrapped in 5-ply corrugated cardboard sheets to provide impact resistance against highway vibrations.

• Layer 3: High-Micron Bubble Wrap

  We use thick, pneumatic bubble wrap to secure the corrugated layers, providing a secondary defense against both shock and moisture.

• Layer 4: Industrial Stretch Film Hermetic Seal

  The entire unit is machine-wrapped in 23-micron polyethylene (PE) stretch film. This creates a waterproof, dustproof cocoon that completely repels heavy rainfall during unloading in Shillong.
